For redo, doctor recommended 300cc

Hi girls!
I am getting a redo to go smaller. Long story short = have 425 cc saline, wear a 34D, but I want to be a B/C. Doctor recommended 300cc. He was not interested in discussing any size in the 200s. I even asked multiple times. I think he thought the idea of me going to a B was silly. He thinks a C will look nice on me. My main priorities are looking natural, less top heavy, and fitting into clothes better. When I asked him to discuss something in the 200s just so I can see all options, he really did not even want to go there. I asked to see a 200cc to compare to a 300cc. He said that is like someone asking a heart surgeon if they can see their heart valves or something. I trust his advice and he seems very knowledgeable but this sorta made me uneasy because I am afraid of going bigger than I want AGAIN.

He also recommended cohesive gel implants for various reasons (less rippling, feel firmer, more natural, less chance of rupturing.) I have felt some rippling with my saline, so I am interested to learn more about the cohesive gel. They also felt cool to hold, but I want to know more about them!! I do not see too many girls getting them on this site even though the doc said "all the girls are getting them". I posted another thread requesting advice/thoughts on the cohesive gel implants, but I'll ask here again So please girls, share your opinions. Who has these? do you love them? why? are they really better?

I have another consult on Wednesday with a woman. I will be interested how many CCs she recommends! WIll keep y'all updated!

I love any advice, comments, words of wisdom!

Hi

I know everybody here as a different opinion of what looks good on them (and others). I did check out your size and think that 300's would look very nice. super natural. You are tall so they will not look big at all. I have 300's and I'm only 5'3. 117 llbs. they look natural.

I'm sure you will be a B/C with 300.

I have silicone cohesive gel implants 225 mod profile. I started out an "A" and am now a full "C".
I don't understand why some surgeons think every woman wants to have large breasts. While 300cc is not considered a large implant, I was surprised at how big my 225's made me.
My surgeon actually chose my size when I expressed that I wanted to be a "B", so it is possible for surgeons to consider sizes in the 200's and they shouldn't make you feel wrong for asking to see those sizes. Just my opinion.

What are your stats? height and weight? If you don't mind me asking. Something in the 200s seemed like what I wanted so I was surprised that the doctor did not even want to discuss that.

I had 250/275cc and I was a mid C - It was a really nice look on me and I was not top heavy at all. I think 300 would be fine.

Can you see another doctor? I would hate to see you get another surgery and STILL feel too big...although there (supposedly) isn't much difference between 250 0r 275 and 300...Then again, I've heard smaller girls say they think there is a noticeable difference in small size increments on petite women. It might be worth it even if all you do is see the 200-300 sizers and get an idea if they are what you want.

He didn't even want to discuss anything in the 200cc range? That's weird... I don't know but I think 300cc could maybe still be bigger on you than you want. I'm a bit taller and heavier than you and 315cc actually made me a D.. I'd talk to another surgeon! Hth

I have my re-do to go smaller in two days. I initially went to my original PS, but like you, he just didn't seem willing to discuss or do the size I really wanted. I booked in with him anyway, against my better judgement.
Over the next few days I had second thoughts and booked a consult with another PS (recommended to me by a friend here on JBI!). This new PS was more than happy to do what I asked for, and expressed....shall we say...surprise....at the fact that my previous PS wasn't willing to do what I wanted.
Needless to say, I have booked in and had more consults with the new PS, and have my redo this Friday! Getting the size and profile I wanted all along, finally!

If you're that unhappy (for lack of a better word?) that you are willing to pay and go through another surgery, then you NEED to be given the results you want. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, unless they have a VERY valid reason for doing so.

Good Luck! I wish you all the best with your redo!

I am 5'4, 112 lbs. I think my ribcage is 29 inches. I think surgeons experience a lot of patients who regret that they didn't go a little bigger (you adjust to the size believe it or not), but I just stressed that I preferred smaller breasts. The surgeon I chose was a woman and she understood exactly what I wanted (she actually has the same size implants herself).

Good luck and just trust your instinct...It's good to gather info but don't let it sway you too much from what you know you like.

Seeing that you're pretty tall, 200cc's does sound fairly small, I think 300ccs would look great on you!! The first PS was probably just worried b/c its kind of drastic decrease in size, then you'd think it was too small & would have to go in for another re-op? Those are the only things I can think of! Regardless, I think a second opinion is a great idea and will help you figure things out for yourself =] Best of luck!!

Second Consultation

Hi again! Thanks for all your replies & comments. Here is another update...

So, today I had my second consultation. It was with a female doctor. The weird thing is that the first doctor and the second doctor are in different practices but share the same big office. I thought it was maybe awkward, but the receptionist just thought I was being really smart, "a smart cookie", by seeing multiple docs, and the doctors were not aware.

Today's doctor was much nicer. She is younger (maybe 35?) so upside- she was more recently educated (more up to date on technology possibly?), possible down-side- she has done fewer augmentations in her life. She had the initial discussion with me where as doc #1 had his nurse talk to me. She also bought in a big assortment of implants even though she also recommended the 300cc for me. Both doctors agreed that 425 is too big for me and a change will be good. They both guessed that 300cc would be great on me. It was interesting to see the different sizes. There is such a big difference between the 250 and the 300 - more than I realized. Looking at the 400cc now was so interesting. It just looks so huge and so heavy! What was I thinking? When I expressed interest in possibly going down below 300cc, she discussed that my skin may have trouble shrinking down that low considering that I have 425cc in and had a baby so my skin has been stretched a lot. She said I could probably do 275, but 300 would be best and would get me to a small C. She said that by going under 300, I run the risk of "Double Bubble"! I def do not want that!! Or that with a smaller implant, I may end up needing a lift later on because my skin may not shrink to fit the implant. I do not really want a lift now and believe that would make me unhappy (my scars do not heal well - they stay pink longer- so the lolly pop scar scares me!)

But I am still afraid of ending up bigger than I like... so we discussed it a lot. My mother-in-law came in with me. She is pretty much flat but she is almost my build - except a bit taller and skinnier. In an effort to help me, she tried on the 300 and the 275!!! I was surprised she did it! She looked great btw! lol. It was so great to see them on her! Perfect demonstration - (since I could not really try any on myself at this point). I actually did like both a lot and they did not look too different - both looked natural and maybe like she got a great bra (it really is amazing how much better she looked lol -she almost got a boob job at 40, but didn't and now totally regrets it!). So, I did like both the 275 and the 300 but I do think I liked the 275s better. Since I am going to wait until January to do the surgery, I am going to go back then and see if my breasts have shrunk any (my breasts are still settling from breastfeeding). The doctor may have a better idea then if I will be able to go below 300 without the possible complication of double bubble or needing a lift. I would like to be a full B as opposed to a C, but if I run the risk of double bubble or needing a lift by going smaller, then I will go with 300.

Overall, I like today's doctor a lot better. She seemed very knowledgeable and said that breasts were her favorite area. I felt like she really listened to me and was concerned for me. She spent a lot of time with me discussing options. She has been training for 10 years, doing surgery for 6 years, and had her own practice for 2 years. So she is less experienced (the other doctor is probably close to 60 and has been doing this forever..) But I felt like the other doctor was so quick and abrupt. I mean.. this is a serious decision!! Just the fact that today's doctor was willing to discuss smaller sizes made me happy. The other doc was just like "no", "i think you would look good as a C", and basically "let me make the decisions". Even my mother in law noticed that he talked to me like a I was a little girl. Its a shame because he is very experienced and well known, but such bad bedside manner in my opinion. So, even though they both recommended the same thing - (300cc, crease incision, cohesive gel) I think I will go with the female I saw today. They both estimated the same price $5,000. Expensive, but I think it will be so worth it and I will be so much happier!

Sorry for any rambling! Its been a long day, but I wanted to share my story! WOuld love any thoughts & comments
