![]() | Why don't they use a sports bra when trying on sizers in the doctors office?
I've done some reading on this forum about getting sized at the consultation. It seems a lot of women say that using a sports bra with sizers makes it more accurate if you are going under the muscle. Okay, that's great, but then why did they use a regular bra everytime I get sized? The nurse told me to go up a size from what I liked (because of going under the muscle) but now I'm worried that the size I picked will be smaller than I want. The size looked fine with a regular bra but I'm guessing if you put them in a sports bra they would get smooshed down and look WAY smaller. I picked 300/325 mod + because the 275/300 looked good. When I went up to the next size, they looked too big for me. Any help would be much appreciated because I'm going in for surgery on monday. Thanks! |

in the plastic surgeon office i used a regular non padded bra........ i liked the 270cc's so i went with the 300cc's and i am very pleased with the size i have. so i think you made the right choice. I started with a 32 b and i am 32d or 32dd in FOH bras. I am 5'5 and 115. Good luck! |

I also used a regular bra during sizing. I loved the look of the 371s so I went up to the 397s. I was so worried that they would look like they looked when I tried them on. I absolutely loved the 371s and that was the look I wanted. I think I got it by going with the 397s.

We have similar stats and I did 300 first time cuz I was scared of not looking natural. You lose alot going under the muscle so to avoid "boobie greed" (that hits just about everyone) I would think about just going a bit larger Good luck

MY plastic surgeon had me try on sizers after he measured me, decided on placement, incision site and gave me an approx. size to try. He provided me with a sports bra and left me alone with his patient coordinator to try on multiple sizes and profiles. We had a lot of fun and narrowed it down to three sizes then my plastic surgeon came back in to discuss the actual surgery and pre-op directions. Going under the muscle he said I would loose some size , so he would compensate for that. I'm so glad he understood the look I wanted! If I would have gone with the #2 plastic surgeon I had consult with I'd have been disappointed already and looking for a re-do! I thought I wanted 250-300 and he just agreed with everything I said. I ended up with 400's to get where I wanted to be! |

If you were worried about going too small id say you have two options. Mak another appointment at the surgeons to try on sizers again and take your own sports bra. Or make up some rice sizers at home for an idea. I was freaking out that my planned size was going to take me too big, but when i tried them on in rough rice sizers I decided they arent too big and feel much more comfortable with the size now. Hope it all works out for you. |

Thanks you guys. I really appreciate all your input. I just called my plastic surgeon' office and switched to 325/350 (from 300/325). I think I would've kicked myself later if I would've stayed with the smaller size. Again thanks |
