How does a capsular contracture feel when it starts?

I'm just a little concerned about my leftie since it still hasn't dropped at all and I have always been curious about how a CC feels when it's starting so I'll know what to look for.
Anyone who has had a CC, can you please share with me what exactly it felt like (or even looked like-just what differences did you notice?) when it started so I (and others) will know what to watch for to catch it as early as possible?
Thank you so much!

I showed "early signs" of C.C. at 6 weeks. My right one always felt different than my left and it took longer to heal. Then there was a tightening of the muscle (or the feeling of a tight muscle), but I think that was the C.C. constricting the implant. If I layed on the floor on my stomach it felt like there was something hard in my rightie. Sometimes C.C. can be painful, but not always. I had no visual distortion of the breast, but I've seen pictures where one may sit higher than the other.
One more thing~the right felt harder than the left. It wasn't a big difference, but it wasn't as soft. They are both soft now and lookin' good!

Kayoko, I'm glad everything is going good for you. . . . we just want perfect boobies, right???

Dreamz, I know it's easy to get obsessed about all the complications, but try not to worry too much. Please take advice from someone that's been there~
I spent the entire summer so stressed out about my boobies!

Let me know if I can help you with anymore questions. Remember~

When do you see your P.S. again??? I would ask him for his opinion . . . maybe you have a tight muscle on that side and that's making it slower to drop. Do you have any pain or tightness???

I had cc twice, but I didn't really "feel" anything in the beginning. I knew I had cc b/c of the way my breast LOOKED and "acted". It was not dropping/fluffing like it should have. I never "felt" anything until the cc was really advanced, at which point I had some discomfort/pain.

Hi Kimberly!
I go again on 11-3 so it's pretty soon.
I am left handed but I wouldn't think that would make it THAT much tighter... I don't lift weights or anything...
I don't have any pain from it really luckily.
Sometimes I still have tightness in both breasts but not bad.
Thanks!

Oh... that's what worries me about my high leftie...
Have you seen my pics? If so, what do you think about it?
Thanks so much!

Wow - This makes me feel a little better...

Ladies,

So good to read this thread. I'm 4 weeks post op tomorrow and my right breast has 'dropped' - I'm not even sure how you properly define this, bit it is lower, a more breast like shape and is soft and moving very well in the pocket created for it.

My left one is a different story. It hardly moves and feels very tight. I'm concerned because as I massage it it really only moves half (or less) as well as the right one. I'm worried about CC too but don't know really how quickly it starts. Could it have started already? Will it always be up higher and hard? I went back to my P.S at 3 weeks and was very worried. He made me feel like an idiot and told me to stop worrying. I'm just wondering how long it will take for it to feel more 'normal' Is what I am experiencing a regular thing do you think??

Please help me stop worrying!!

I showed early signs of C.C. at 6 weeks. It's possible your left is taking longer to drop. Your doctor should be able to tell by the "feel" of the breast.
That's how mine did it. . . .he felt both in his hands and knew in about 3 seconds. You are still healing . . . . but if you were told to massage then do it every chance you get! I think that really helped me . . . that and compression (lay on your stomach) with all of your weight on the implants.

Try not to worry too much; it does get better!

Thanks so much... I'm just still worried as I see pictures of CC and it looks like me! I know that it probably hasn;t juts dropped... At 4 weeks, he seems to think that my right one (the good one) is way ahead of schedule and should be hard like the other one. When do you reckon I should try and see him if things don't change? This is so hard, I'm stressing so much about them and I just wnat to be 'normal' It took me so long to get to the decision to have surgery and I really would hate to have CC..

If you really think something is wrong . . . try to see him as soon as possible.
In the early stages of C.C. doctors can prescribe a prescription for Accolate which has shown to help soften the breast and break up scar tissue. I did some research on my own and asked my doctor about it. I also started taking Vitamin E and massaging like a mad woman!

Hi, I have CC...for me I had sharp pain in my left boob for about two weeks straight (I just thought it was nerves regenerating since I was still a bit numb) and then I looked in the mirror and my left boob sat higher then my right boob, I also had my left boob feel harder especially at the top where it has more upper pole now..so I called my plastic surgeon and nonetheless I had CC..he put me on vit. E and Singulair (which is also like Accolate except its once a day) and I have been vigorously massaging ever since..my boob is softer now but it still sits higher then the other, I'm just praying for it to drop...I am 6 months post op now..Good Luck

Hi! I'm sorry, I'm just now seeing this!
I go to my plastic surgeon tomorrow and I will post on here somewhere what he tells me.
My leftie has luckily dropped some since my last post but of course I still have dropping to do and I'm still really paranoid about a CC. It's just such a scary thing!
Good luck to you and yours-I hope that you have dropped some by now!

Sorry to budge in here...

Kimberly, how did the scar tissue feel like. You said you were trying to break apart the scar tissue.

Thanks!
