No, it won't go away on it's own. Yes, some people can have a low grade of cc that doesn't get worse. It seems that it usually DOES get worse, but it's possible for it not to.

I've had CC 3 times

I know it can seem scary,Brownbird, but dont let that stop you from making a decision on something you really want.
I've had CC 3 times since my BA in May 2007.My last capsulotomy was June 6,2008.This time my plastic surgeon added steroids into the pocket around the implant. His dad is also a plastic surgeon with like 30+ years experience and told him he's done that before with difficult cases. So far,my right side is feeling soft and natural. I'm taking the Accolate,Vit.E, and Scar Multiplex, and the compressions someone else mentioned.I agree with a point that Nikki said, about the plastic surgeon making the pocket big enough in the first place. I often wondered if maybe that had something to do with why I had such an awful time with my right side, only. I know that when my plastic surgeon did the last surgery,he also lowered the crease on the right side.I had told him time and again I knew the asymmetry wouldn't solve itself with the impants alone. Finally my boobs are almost symmetrical...During the last surgery,I knew he was going to add saline to the L side, but he ended up adding too much, and I go back on the 5th for him to remove some.Ofcourse at no cost to me. Anyways,CC is a tough thing to have to deal with. Some people beat it without having to have surgery, but not everyone gets it,and you may end up not having to deal with it at all! One a side note,I'm really sorry for anyone who has or is dealing with CC.CC blows!

Pulling for straws

I have been reading up on scar tissue and most everything I have read says it will not just go away.
I had my implants placed 25 july 08. What concerned me is the length of time I was in surgery. My daughter and friend said they were getting worried because people were coming and going and the nurses kept coming out with she is doing fine, she's OK, she's resting now so on and so forth. To make a long story short, I started having trouble with the left side and that side was the most painful from day one. I could not move my arm, it felt like a tendon had been snipped or shortened. I could not raise my arm let alone move it.
when I went in for 1st check up I told doc about the discomfort and how severe it was. Of course his response was you are only days out give it some time. Time passed and I still continued to have trouble using my left arm and he continued to say give it time. One thing for sure is that the ultrasound did make it feel better but not as comfortable as the right side felt. Then I started to notice that the left side was flat and looked like something was pulling it toward my armpit. On my next appointment I showed him again how it was disfigured and told him how painful it still was. He said the implant had not yet made it into the pocket that he created for it be a little patient. Now Im getting worried because the ride side is looking so pretty and the left side looks ok but not normal and the skin is sagging underneath. It is now October and the surgery was done in July and now Im beig told its cc and that I may need surgery to correct it. I did take accolate immediately after surgery, it was a 2 month supply. There use to be hard spots around the areola but those went away as I continued to take the accolate on both sides.
Im not uncomfortabe and have no pain the pulling sensation under the arm went away but the sagging and dent that looks flat remains. I really dont want to have another surgery and was wondering if more ultrasound treatments would help move the scar tissue away so the implant can drop down into the pocket on its own or is there some other therapy I can get to help the implant to drop into the pocket, is there some herb I can take that helps disolve scar tissue? Im pulling for straws here.

When you find out that you have CC, what did you do to it, did you take Alcolate yet, and did you do a lot of massage, did it get any better or do you need surgery? Please let me know, i'm so worry.

Thank you
michelle
Let us know what he has to say about about your condition. I too have breast milk and CC twice. Does your plastic surgeon worry about still lactating? I was never put on accolate, just told to do aggressive massages, OFTEN. The second CC I was put on an antibiotic but nothing helped. I just had a L explant and hopefully will have my re-augmentation Christmas/New Year time frame. I hope that you can avoid any other surgeries. Take Care

Hi ladies. I too have Grade II cc. I was officially diagnosed in July, but I think I've had it for a while now. Three months later and my cc has not progressed. My plastic surgeon is hopeful it will not progress. I take 400 ius of vitamin E daily and lay on my belly on the floor for thirty minutes most nights. I do sometimes get mild pain, but not for long and then it goes away. You can not tell by looking at me. Both breasts look almost exactly the same. I have it in my right one. But my daughter hugged me the other day and said that my chest felt hard and why? LOL I told her it was the bra. So, yes you can feel the difference. It is noticably harder. I am going to see my plastic surgeon in november to have it checked. If it is the same, I will live with it until it progresses then I will need another surgery. He wants to do a capsulotomy. UGH!

Talking Ace Bandage?

Do you mean a real Ace bandage? It seems like that would cut off the circulation. When I went to Aspen for ultrasound, they used something like an Ace, but was totally NOT since it didn't cut off the circulation. Are you going there? Where is Tamarac? Is that near Coral Springs? That is where Aspen is. I had a great result and even came down from NY. That was months ago, and it has NOT returned. Soft and supple! I am sooooo happy!!!

Talking Stage II to III

I was almost a III when I went there (FL). I was about 5 months out I think. Funny how you forget when the problem is gone! It was worth the trip, totally. Good luck! I think they may be selling the machine and teaching the treatment to plastic surgeon offices. Check it out on line, ok? good luck

Can CC go away...

Wondering if any of you ladies could drop us a follow up since it has been a white since this was originally posted.
I definitely have CC in both and never went in to my plastic surgeon for almost 2 years due to health issues. Perhaps had I been able to go to my check ups my plastic surgeon would have caught it sooner.
I believe my left is between 1 and 2 and my right between 2-3. I definitely can feel it and it hurts if I lay on it or press it firmly.
However, they "look" completely normal.
I would GREATLY appreciate any follow up info from you ladies!
THANKS!

Where is this you went?
And what was it that they did to completely heal your breasts and be CC free??
...was it CRAZY EXPENSIVE?

Hi! I have a friend that did physical therapy before she came to work with me and she said that they treated people with CC...they would massage the heck out of their implants to try to "pop" the scar tissue capsule and get it to release the implant. She said you can actually hear an audible pop when it happens. My plastic surgeon said not to take Accolate (I have CC on one side right now), because it is not proven to work and that those who say it does are only testimonials. He is re-doing mine in November and he is not the one who originally put them in. I guess if you massage them you don't get CC but I was never told to so I didn't...7.5 years later I have it.

Exercises hurt my hand

My left breast is a little hard but moves around the pocket. I have smooth silicone unders and i am already doing compression exercises. Im not sure if im doing exercise correctly but it is causing my hand that is in contact with the floor to hurt. I had my revision 4/30.
Thanks for the suggestion. Im willing to try anything tp prevent redo.

I've never heard of CC going away, but I have heard certain plastic surgeon remark that it sometimes doesn't progress. That you're breasts remain firmer than they would be, but don't end up distorting or becoming painful.
