Unhappy My left implant has been removed............

I just wanted to let all you ladies know that everyone who has seen my posts knew I was having my re-do Sept 24, 07 to correct all the complications my last PS left me to deal with. As some of you know my re-do was a success!!!!! For three weeks, the rippeling, the scar revision, the bottoming out, capsular contracture, getting a minor lift again, going under the muscle from where I was over the muscle, going bigger from a 650 cc to a 700 cc, from moderates to moderate plus-still staying with silicone, switching from Inamed to Mentor was a success!!!!!! I loved the results. Well I had a minor infection in my left breast that progressed to my incision opening up to showing the implant which looked black, had fluid which was clear, leak out of me like a faucet that scared the ---- out of me, was put on Levaquin-an antibotic that lessoned the swelling, but as good as my current PS is we couldn't save the implant. I had surgery last Tuesday to remove my left implant. My PS said it did not make any sense to replace the implant and perhaps have another infection take place, so were letting my left breast heal for three months until we go back in to place another implant in my left breast. I have no problems with my right breast, which tells you I have my right implant still intact while there's nothing in my left breast. I am one of the 2% of women who have infections after a BA or such as my revision that is not common but does occur. I am handling this pretty well. I could not be able to deal with this if it wasn't for the care and compassion my PS Dr. Babik Dadvand has shown me. He did all he could to save the implant and do his best to stop what I had to go through, which was to prevent the removal of my left implant. I have a 700cc implant to place in my bra to balance out the difference of having a implant in my right breast to having nothing in my left. This has been a very humbling experience. I want you all to know if there is someone else out there who can relate and is not handling what I'm going through I'm hear to listen if you care to reach out. I truly love this web-site and all the ladies who have sent there best to my revision on the last surgery I had on Sept 24, 07. Thank you Niki for starting this web-site and thank you ladies for being so supportive of all of our complications, our success with our surgeries, and everything in between. I have my moments when I can't believe this has happened, to being strong, to crying, but I am handling it the best way I know how and that is through the grace of God and by sharing my story with you ladies. I'll keep you all posted on when exactly my date will be to go back in and put in my implant, but as far as what I've been told it will be in three months. Again, my PS is a wonderful Doctor. I truly believe God put him in my life for a reason and without his compassion to help me cope with this ordeal, I would be going crazy. There was no charge for the removal of the implant. Only 800 for the sedation for the Doctors who put me under. When he goes back in I'll be paying the same amount. There is a warrenty on my implant to cover this, so believe me that was another thing that I didn't need, more money to cover something as unfortunate as to what I already had to endure. Thank you all for your support. All the best, Christine.

I don't know how you are being so strong. Aren't we amazing where we get our inner strength from at difficult times.
Being so strong & looking on the up helps you heal faster, I'm sure of it.

I have to say, reading your post made my tummy flip & I got a tear in my eye.
Wishing you all the luck in the world & lots of love & healing.

Christina I am so very sorry, its everyones worse nightmare something like this happening you appear to be handling it so positively but you must be heartbroken, I dont know you personally but I feel really upset for you. Its good news you have such an understanding ps that is going to help you get through this knowing that he is going to put things right for you. I know three months must seem like a life time to you now but it will soon come round. I hope you are feeling better in yourself after having such a nasty infection.

Take lots of care of yourself
Big hug to you

Red face Thank you for responses..........on my removal of left breast implant.

You ladies are the best!!!!!! I can't tell you how you ladies are so right about all I have gone through and you have all been aware of the trials and tribulations that I have shared with you all here on this web-site. And you have all been so supportive and so kind to listen and to respond to what I have gone through. Thank you for saying how strong I am. I'm amazed at myself through this to not want to just break down. But if I can say it's the foundation of my support group (you guys) and my selective group of friends that are like my family to kind of lend a hand when my arms feel like I can't carry myself through anymore ordeals like the one I'm going through to put a smile on my face when I think I can't smile. My belief in God has carried me through some rough times in my life I had to face and be dealt some unfortunate blows though out my life that believe me without him I don't know how I managed to walk through all I had encountered. But it's not over. There will be more challenges along the way and all I can say is how we deal with what is thrown our way along with "Is there a lesson I'm suppose to learn from this?" can sometimes offer a little comfort when things appear to be upside down or not make sense, or simply why the hell am I going through this? Lessons..... I don't know. But like I said, this has been a very humbling experience for me. I know there are people out there who lost there breasts to cancer, or for that matter have just been told they have stage four of cancer and I'm going through yes a set back but in three months if God willing, my body won't reject the implant and if all goes well, I'll have the implant replaced. Where others won't have this type of oppurtunity. I don't know, that kind of comes to my mind when I think of what I'm going through. I just have to be possitive. But if I have my bad days, I'll write them here to vent. You ladies will help me in many ways. And if I can help anyone who is going through the same thing or something simular, or just needs to talk I'm here also. Thank you to all of you. All the best, Christine

Christine, I'm so sorry to hear about your infection.
You were so happy and so upbeat after you redo, this is very unfortunate.
We are here for you, I know this is really hard but you must keep strong.

Oh, Christine, I hate it that this happened to you, especially after all you've already been through! You do sound like you are handling it well. I suppose you've got experience with BA problems, I just wish you'd didn't have to get more. So - three months? Not TOO bad; it will go by quickly, with the attitude you've got. You are amazing. You know we are here for you! Be strong when you can, but when you can't, know you have friends to turn to. I am wishing you a fast healing and one day --- 2 perfect boobies!

Oh no!!!

What an ordeal for you to endure! You've got the right attitude girl. It'll be rough, no doubt about it, but 3 months will go by fairly soon. That's awesome the he gave you the implant to use in your bra...I wouldn't have thought of that. Were you surprised by how big or heavy it was? Best wishes for your recovery and when the time comes to re-implant I know we will ALL be sending you caring healing vibes!!!
