I think it's CC :-((

About 1 week ago, I was doing my massages and noticed a hard lump when I push down right above my areola on my left breast. My breast is still soft, and moves freely in the pocket like the right side, but I can't think of another reason why I would have this hard lump that was never there before.
It is about the size of a quarter I think, and can be slightly pushed around- not too far (to be fair I haven't tried to move it much, as I feel sick to my stomach when I push on it, from fear). I am close to tears, and I am so freaking out that I can't even see straight! I have an appointment with surgeon on Monday, but can't sleep and was hoping someone had an opinion here.
Help? I am crumbling

I really don't think it would have anything to do with CC. You don't get lumps from CC - the entire capsule starts to tighten. It could be a cyst in there. It could be some scar tissue. I'm trying to remember - there was another poster not too long ago with a similar problem and it all worked out fine. You're going into see your PS soon, that's good. I think you can relax for now.

Please do let us know what you find out on Monday.

I agree with what Slinky said; when you have CC it's not a localized little lumpy thing - the whole implant goes hard and it becomes difficult to move around.

I'll be watching for an update on Monday. Good job that you found it and you're on top of going to the doctor with it!

Thank you so much for responding! I was thinking the lump was just the start of the entire capsule hardening- but I'll try to relax until Monday!
Thank you again for the responses and I will be sure to post my update!

Yeah, what everyone else said is true! CC doesn't start with a hard lump that spreads to the rest of the breast - the entire implant itself is squeezed by the capsule. Its probably just a small lump of scar tissue or something. I freaked out about a lump near my areola a couple months ago and it turned out to be the implant valve. So seriously, don't be overly worried. Definitely check it out, but it's overwhelmingly likely that it's no big deal.

This is exactly what I was thinking- I remember the first time I felt that, it freaked me out a little, too.

Good luck. I hope it's nothing

Another lady had that, and it was just a small lump of fibrostic, nothing to worry about, easy to take care of. CC doesnt feel like that, its diffferent. We can even have some lumps from scar tissue and these usually go away on their own. Of course going to see your ps is the only thing you can do, but try not to worry, chances are very high its nothing and something easily fixed. (if it even needs fixing so many things like this our body naturally takes care of) Sending lots of positive thoughts and energy that all is well. Please let us know!

Hey maya--on a separate note--my doc recommends silicone textured overs for me. have you had any problems with yours? I'm really fair, and I'm just worried about cc. My situation is such that he can't do unders and have it look good (concave chest, ribs flare at top), so this is pretty much my only shot at it. I really don't want to have a second surgery. Tell me your experience! thank you!

Thank you everyone for the encouraging words, and thoughts!
I saw my Dr. and he says def not cc, he said he could actually pinch and roll the lump separate from my implant and muscle. He pinch my actual breast tissue that is above the muscle and implant and found that that is where the mass is- my breast tissue. He said the mass feels smooth and rubbery, which I guess is how fibrocysts (is that right?) feel. My options are to wait a menstrual cycle to see if it's hormone related, or get a mammogram. I think I will wait a little to see what happens. I suppose it could be cancer, but it just seems unlikely at 27 yrs old... I could be wrong.
Anyway, thank you again everyone!!!

I would probably wait as well, as long as you DON'T have history of breast cancer in your family. Take care!

Hi there - you should def wait a hormone cycle to see if the lump goes away. In general a smooth rubbery lump that moves around easily is just a cyst and will go away on its own. If it doesn't go away, get a mammogram just to be sure, it's better to be safe than sorry!

If anyone feels a hard grainy lump in their breast that doesn't move, please get it checked out straight away!

AFterglowy

Are cysts and cancer lumps usually sore do you know? Is it possible to have a cyst and for it never to go away but not be a problem?
