A second Doctor's opinion and Hope for those with tenting...

Hello everyone. I went for a second opinion early last week in regards to my perpetual tenting in my cleavage. The doctor told me that they are definitely very very close, and that I was borderline in developing symmastia. He said I still have attachments to my sternum and the muscle still seems to be in tact, but the skin just doesn't go down all the way, and if the situation doesn't improve, I may need to get permanent sutures for my cleavage. One of the problems was my large implants placing strain on the skin in the center. And having such a close cleavage pre-ba doesn't help at all. He recommended that I start wearing either a spacer in between my breasts or a thong bra to help my skin develop more sternal attachments. At this point, I was extremely worried with the prospect of needing another surgery. So I took up the dr.'s advice and ordered a thong bra online. Here's the good news: After only wearing it for 24 hours, the tenting has gone down about 50%. I'm very happy and excited to share this news with you all. For all the ladies with tenting out there: get a thong bra and see it if helps. It's done wonders for me. Goodluck!

After reading this & the post about symmastia I was a little worried, I have quite large implants for my frame & also had a close clevage pre BA so wondered what I could do being in the UK ... just in case anything started I wanted to be prepared I have invested a lot in my young ladies.

Getting something in the UK (spacer or thong bra's) I have discovered in nay on impossible, or costs almost as much as my BA, (well not quite but they are expencive to have shipped here) & I didnt want to be having to pay hundreds of dollars for something that I may not use/need, however I have 'improvised' & thought I would share with anyone who is in the same situation as myself

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lot-of-6-full-...713.m153.l1262

I purchased some support bras from the above link, its a seller based in the USA, however will happily post world wide 6 bras including postage cost me $50.

Well with me getting more than I bargained for they dont fit, I wondered as they are quite sreatch .. what will happen if I cut out the cup bit? so I did ... cutting along the line thats perforated .

The result is I have a bra that fits jst like a thong bra does, where the cup was stretches nicely over my breasts, because the bit in the middle fits between my breasts it keeps them apart.

If it turns out I need a thong bra or spacer bra then I will prob invest in one, but at the moment it means I have somthing I can wear very comfortably under a normal bra that helps me keep the gap that my PS left me with between my brests.

Thank you to all the ladies for your encouraging words. I have taken some pictures, and there's definitely more of a gap now btwn my breasts. Hopefully I will be able to load them onto photobucket and share with you all in the coming weeks.

Your story is IDENTICAL to my situation! Wow! I am 3 months post-op, and have felt like my cleavage area is not as "flat" as it should be- the skin is kind of arched in my cleavage area (would that be called "tenting"??). I made an appt. to see me doctor 2 days ago, and she said my cleavage skin swelled so much after my surgery that it's somewhat stretched now, and put me in a thong bra for the next 4 weeks. Her hope is that after 4 weeks of 24/7 wearing it and applying pressure to my cleavage area, that area will flatten out more and give me a better look. If after 4 weeks it doesn't improve greatly, she is going to go in & place permanent sutures to "tack" the skin down and give me the cleavage I so rightfully deserve, LOL! I will have to say that after wearing it for 2 days I can already tell a big difference. How long did you end up wearing your thong bra? And, did it correct your cleavage, or have you had to get the sutures since this post? Thank you SO much for sharing your story- I can relate to you 100%!

Ok I need to do this. I bought the thong bra so I do have it at home. But I work as a model and can't wear it 24-7 because I have to work. Sucks
I may just have to stop working for awhile and see if this works for me as well.
