HELP my incision won't stop bleeding. already went to ER but STILL won't stop!
I woke up today with my shirt covered in blood and noticed my right incision was bleeding.. again. Thinking it would go away i just put some gauze on it and didn't think about it. So I go out to lunch and look down and my shirt is soaked through with blood. The blood was running down my stomach all the way to my underwear. I had my boyfriend take me to the ER where they looked at it and didn't think it was anythign serious. They put peroxide on it and gauzed it up and sent me home. Well its only been 4 hours and the gauze is soaked through and completly through my clothes again. I can't take it! I don't know what to do and I can't believe I just paid 50$ copay to go the ER and have them fix nothing.. does anyone have any suggestions or did this happen to anyone else?!! man it's just one thing after another with me.. I'm really trying to stay postive but at this point its gettin kinda hard..

Hi there chicki,
Firstly sorry you are going through this, I went through alot of complications also & have just gotten past them now - 9 months after my initial BA..I like you was leaking daily, but instead of blood clear fluid that at times gushed like a tap..I know it is very very very hard, but do try and remain positive & remember you will get past this, the important thing though is to figure our how you will.... & concentrate on one thing at a time. I also did not recieve a good response when I went back a week later with a leaking incision, after several rude remarks made to me on the phone & seeking out every option to try and heal myself & crying every day I sent an email stating: * The symptoms * That I was well within my rights to be asking these questions and pointed out I was only human & any human with stuff leaking out of them would become frantic. * I did not appreciate being ridiculed or being told I was "obssesive" & that in perhaps his profession he may consider it to be obssesive, but to a young girl who has just paid him alot of money & is now uncomfortable, scared & bleeding every day, this is simply not right Basically the next day I recieved 3 phone calls in 10 minutes apologising & offering to pay for my taxi, he then went on to looking after me correctly & treating me well & fixed my probs (I wont go into how becoz it may only scare you & you may be in a better case scenario than I was at the time). Make sure you keep dates and times of conversations or when something has changed, sorry for the long post. Last edited by belbliss; 08-16-2008 at 09:35 PM. Reason: clicked b4 completed post!! |

Doesn't seem normal at all since your ba was on the 5th. Have you contacted your PS? If not, I would do so immediately.

Contact your ps
As hard as it maybe to do that, you need to, or if he won't take you seriously get your Mom or Dad to do so. Maybe then you will be taken seriously. If he does not return your call can you go to another hospital ER? Can you remain laying down and try to take it easy to minimize your bleeding.
I really don't know what to say, but someone needs to help you. If your ps does not return your call, sue his ass! You paid for post op care as part of your fee. Hope your bleeding stops and keep us updated. Take care, Josie |

I am not one to "Threaten" people but if I were you I would call your PS via emergency phone # if possible. I would state the symptoms and then politely state if they do not call you back to address the issues and give you proper treatment that the next person they will be hearing from is your Lawyer. At this point if the ER was not able to help, you have no other choice but to see your PS and threaten lawsuit if he does not treat you with respect and address your concerms. Good Luck...I wish I had better advice to give.

asap
call or just show at your PS's office and if you go, take a friend or someone who is supportive with you, you should be taken seriously, i sure as hell would want to be in your shoes! take someone with, but insist on being seen!

Yeh AbbeyRose you should really be doing something when you get an infection - if it isn´´t already then you need serious antibiotics. If I were you - I would prob forget about the A--- PS and search for another for help...I am sorry but I dont know the medical system there....but please do something now....

OMG...sorry hun. I know this sounds kinda gross....but save the bloody gauzes you go through, put it in a bag and take it down to his office. Show him that you are not being paranoid and it is NOT normal to lose this much blood. I would go down there and face him, because he can't ignore you at that point.
I hate crappy PS's. I've said it before ladies....let do something that makes doctors get rated and is required. Then they would care a little more. |
