scar tissue information

I thought this was an interesting explanation of scar tissue:
http://www.essentialtherapync.com/scartissue.html

Please do your own research, but here is some other information:

I recently heard a speaker explain this about scar tissue (and I immediately thought of capsular contracture): Scar tissue is an anti-inflammatory reaction that doesn't get flushed away by other processes in the body. There is an inflammatory cascade when there is an injury, exposure to microbes, etc. The body has an immediate inflammatory reaction after an antibody touches a germ. A2m (alpha 2 macroglobulin) is the only thing that can alleviate inflammation. A2m surrounds the antibody and germ and calls over a macrophage/white blood cell to eat it. Fibrin is produced when there is an injury and it pumps into the wounded site. Fibrin becomes scar tissue. As we age we produce less A2m (over age 45, 55% less A2m). So the fibrin is packed in there waiting for A2m and it gets larger and larger. Wobenzyme (#2 best-selling drugstore item in Germany, after aspirin) seeks out and destroys excess fibrin (it is an anti-fibrogen). The speaker took 50/day after shoulder surgery. 5 capsules/3x day (10 days) on an empty stomach normalizes A2m so it can get rid of inflammation, then take 3 capsules/2x day.

I know there are differing theories about, well, just about anything, but this supplement might be another tool in the arsenal against CC. Vitamin Shoppe seems to be the cheapest place to get Wobenzyme (but it's still not cheap). Like I said, do your own research and talk to your doctor--I just wanted to share this information that I hadn't heard elsewhere.

Question Wobenzyme prevents or eliminates scar tissue?

I wonder if it's too late to take Wobenzyme when you already have CC? Or if it's just to stop the scar tissue from forming after the operation? I didnt quite understand it. Interesting!

Thanks. That's interesting. Although I've had CC, I also find it interesting in regards to athletic injuries. I suspect I injured a muscle, ligament or tendon somewhere around my right hip a few years ago and it's been giving me problems with running recently. Along with following up with my physician and stretching, I've been thinking of working it out with massage.

Post Starting to vigorisouly message my Stage 3 CC

Really interesting, and I am also very curious. I have stage 3 CC, and I don't really know if it's too late, or even worth the pain of vigorous message. I am going to have to get a 4th revision, not only for that, but also for some other problems. But I am presently doing the message techniques, and I will let you know what happens, not unless I get the surgery sooner, I probably won't get it until at least a month/or more.

I might get also order Wobenzymeer, the anti-fibrogen drug. If I do, I'll keep it posted.

I have a friend who is a very good massage therapist, certified in several types. She has had success with scar tissue on clients (none with CC, things like abdominal scar tissue from c-sections, etc.), by doing myofascial massage, then applying magnesium oil (relaxes muscle), then a castor oil pack (see Recovery forum post on castor oil packs). She's the one who sent me the scar tissue link.

As far as the Wobenzyme helping old scar tissue, he did say that it seeks out and destroys excess fibrin so I would think it would be worth a try (if I had CC I would try it--in fact, I'm considering it as a preventative).

So do you think Wobenzyme would work for CC? I seem to have developed scar tissue internally after my abdominoplasty and am wondering if this might help.
