In retrospect, my first sign of capsule contracture was when I was lying down on my stomach (with pressure on my breasts) and the one with CC felt different, like there was something inside it. The other one didn't feel that way. This was around 1-2 months post-op. At this point, there was no difference when I would touch them or massage them.

I suspected CC around 3 months post-op when the breast with CC stopped moving well in it's pocket, and I really knew I had it around 3 1/2 months post-op when it started getting tighter, contracting in and moving up on my chest. I was officially diagnosed around 4 1/2 months post-op when I went for a second opinion.

I agree with BeckyBee. I didn't add that in my PM, but when I laid on my tummy it felt as if there was a baseball shoved under my chest. Just an FYI.

I was 4 weeks when I noticed my righty was going up instead of dropping it was really noticeable in my week to week pics. And it was a bit firmer then my left but my implant could still move in the pocket but it was tight. So in week 5 I was seen and was told I was grade 3 and was given a ultrasound that day, they increased my vit E to 800 once a day put me on singulair and told to do aggressive massage and compression and I also use a LED light therapy on my breast for 30 min once a day recommended to me from someone in australia who had cc once had to have surgery and got it again and upon her second fight she found the LED helped her and I think it has helped me. My right has almost completely cleared now and is only a bit higher now then my left but as of my last check he thought it felt almost normal but I had developed some mondors cords on that side so they have to go away now as well. Do you think you have CC???

Yes I agree with the above post I would lay on my stomach when first diagnosed and it was really painful after aggressive massage for a month it got where I could lay on my stomach without pain.

Hi! I have CC on one side only, and I got it a a little over 7 years post-op. When I bend over I get some wrinkling around the edges of my implant (they are silicone liquid over the muscle); one day I was sitting on the couch and I noticed a weird wrinkle in my cleavage area on my left side. I bent over and it got worse so I thought I had sprung a leak but there was not really a size difference to show that one was losing volume. I went to the Dr. and had an MRI and it showed that the implant was indeed wrinkled up but not leaking. My second plastic surgeon I saw told me I had CC and that it was aqueezing the implant, which is why it was wrinkled. Still have it to date but my re-do is 13 November...less than 3 weeks! Can't wait!
I really think I got CC because I avoided my boobs like the plague because I was afraid I would pop them, so I didn't massage them AT ALL.

Hi My5stakn. I had CC and a capsulectomy surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago. Around 5 months post op, I started having weird shooting pains one weekend. A few weeks later, I noticed that while laying in bed, it hurt when I put one of my arms over my head. At about 6 months, I noticed that my left breast wasn't as soft as my right. I also noticed that it wasn't even anymore with my right breast. At that point I noticed changes almost every day. It grew more painful, hard, and distorted looking. I had an indention underneath my crease, and there was hardly any breast below my left nipple. I hurt to move that arm, it hurt to put any pressure on it, it hurt period. It was not fun. Around the 6 month post op mark, I made an appointment, and my plastic surgeon confirmed that I did have CC. He said surgery was the answer. I was devastated, because even though he was covering his costs, I still had to pay for anesthesia and OR fees which came out to be $1300. We just didn't have that money. It came to the point though that I just had to get it done to stop being in pain and put it behind me. I grew very self concious of how weird my breast looked and felt.

I am like I said, 2 1/2 weeks post op and it's going well so far. I really hope you don't have to deal with it, but in hind sight, it wasn't as big a deal as I thought it would be. Any way good luck and feel free to write with any questions.

My plastic surgeon told me that I had CC in BOTH breasts at 6 weeks.. I had no idea because they were pretty firm from day one. I thought it was normal and it would soften up on their own in time..
It's been 6 months and I'm still waiting it out. Still firm but I'm trying to be positive!

I got cc in both breasts after 4 yrs with saline. Had them changed to textured silicone gel and apparantly have it again after 8yrs! It is not as bad with the silicone though.

With the saline they were rock hard!

I've had it twice. The first symptom was the implant not settling into the pocket like it should. I didn't have much dropping to do after my ba, so I noticed it fairly early (like 4 weeks or so post-op). My implant actually moved UP instead of down. Had a revision at 6 months post-op, and the cc came right back just like it did the first time. I waited a year and had a complete redo to saline, and the cc didn't come back. I had that set for 5 years, then had another redo (and went smaller) and have had no problems.

Nickki, I am currently 375Mod+,silicone under, and I am going to have a revision for a mess of problems very soon. My question is that I am not not sure how much bigger I should go. The only reason I think I need to go bigger is to close up my large 4cm gap. If you could tell me why you decided on 400cc's, and if I could see some pictures, that would be great. I'll send you a friend request. You seem to be everywhere I am thinking of going in cc's, so maybe you can help me decide.
