Exclamation $3000 to go larger!?!

My PS Office wants to charge me $3'000 to go larger. My surgery hasn't even been 2 months ago, and they set my date up for July 26th, 2007 for my redo to go larger. I think this is insane, first of all he never discussed size with me, told me to pick a picture and bring it in. So here I was bringing pictures of what I thought looked good and never took height, weight, and all that into consideration, I knew nothing about all of that until after my BA when I found this website. And he also never evened out the difference in size as I asked and they want to charge me that kind of money.
I'm sorry if I sound whiney, but I paid $8'000 already.. I'm also 26, so if they expect any future business out of me, since I plan on getting lot's of procedurs done as I age I would think they better make me happy. Anyhow I told them to cancel my appointment, and the Nurse said she would check on something and call me back, and I hope it's checking on lowering the price. Anyone else have luck like this with wanting a redo to go larger?

I hate to say this but I think 3k sounds reasonable. You have to consider that it isn't all profit for the doctor. The implants, surgical suite, and anesthesia aren't cheap. I doubt he's making much money at all.

HOWEVER, 8k was a heck of a lot of money in the first place, so I would guess he's already make plenty of profit off you. I, like you, didn't find this forum until after surgery and surely wish I had!

I'm surprised he's willing to perform a redo so soon after your initial BA. Most PS's require that you wait at least six months. My advice would be to schedule another appt. with him and discuss your financial concerns, as well as all the issues that weren't covered in the first place (size and such).

Good luck!

Well mine told me upfront going larger would be 2500 but my original surgery was only 4800. Some of the girls on here are not offered a discount at all to go bigger so 3,000 may not be a bad deal.

He might be charging you the hospital and anethesia bill. I don't think they can get around that. How much bigger do you want to be?

Ok I am sorry I freaked out at first, I wasn't sure what was reasonable, but you girls have given some good points. I was thinking on going 150-200cc larger. Boobie Greed sucks.

I'm also shocked he would perform a redo so soon. I guess he thinks it's ok, but my Dr. won't even consider it until 6 months post op.

I'm in the same boat as you, I want to get larger implants, I have no idea how much my PS will charge but will be finding out the beginning of July at my 3 month post op.

But considering my implants are $2,000 alone, I would expect to pay at least that plus a little more. It really does stink though because I paid $7,000 for this surgery and that was A LOT of money to me, I still owe on it and will pay it off completely with our tax return in Feb. 2008. So to add more to a surgery that isn't even paid for is not even an option for me, if I can't pay cash with my extra money, I can't do it.

If it's not cheap enough, I can't do it. I will be very sad if I can't, but I think I will drive a hard bargain because I really really want a size redo.

I'm not sure that my situation is the same thing, but I'm having my second BA and it is quite a bit later and with a different doctor. $7700 is what I'm paying!

Unfortunately you can't change what's in the past, you would've probably been better off discussing the size right the first time around... That said I think they're being very reasonable with the price. My PS said straight on that should I be unhappy with my size I'd be paying full price for a redo.

My PS went over everything initially so there wasn't any question about what I was getting what it would cost and all the other things, he even mentioned what was covered in the initial 6 months after the procedure. We went over a redo price, but I wasn't even paying attention, b/c I went with as much as I could get and I figured I'm improving what already existed so that in itself was good. So, I hope that everything works out in your favor and you and your PS can come to a reasonable arrangement.

OMG! If a redo is $3000 I'll never be able to afford it.

Well I have been 6 months since my ba. The other day I called my surgeons office for a re-do ( which I noticed he is kind of resistant to do it ) for a re- evaluation. I asked nurse how much she thinks they are going to charge me for the re-do and she told me that she thinks they are going to charge me the implants only. I will have to find out the 4th of june and let u guys know!! I think that surgeons may have a bit of more consideration economically if there is a short period of time between the day of ba and the day of the re-do because if u want a redo so soon that means u are not satisfied. I hope mines only charges me for the implants only. wish me luck!! and good luck to u too sweetie!!

I am sorry if this thread is repeated ( having trouble with computer ) Well like I said before I think that ps have a little more consideration if the date of your ba and the date of your re-do is really close by because that means that the client was not satisfied. I had my ba close to 6 months ago and ever since the first evaluation after ba I have always told him that I expected to go bigger and he is very skeptical about me going bigger. Well I called the nurse for a evalution for a re- do and I asked her how much does she think he is going to charge me. She told me that she thinks he is going to charge me for the implants only. So I hope and pray to god that he will only charge me for that. Hey I already payed 7,200 that is a lot of money for an unsatisfied customer. good luck to all of us!! Will find out and let u guys know the 4th of june!

Fashionknockout will become famous soon enough
That amount sounds reasonable.
Implants are about $1000 each, more or less depending whether you have saline or silicone.
Then there's anesthesia and the surgical suite fees.
I asked my ps how much it would cost if I needed a redo and he said about $3000.
So I think the price is pretty standard.

I'm sorry you are not happy with your size.
Just make sure you think it through for a while before spending more money.
If I were you I would not spend more money and go through all the pain again over 100cc's.
If you're going to do it I would go larger than that,
that way it's worth while.
Good luck sweety!! (((Hugs)))

I think your redo is too soon. You haven't had time to heal. Will your scars be larger? I think you should ask some more questions.

I think $3000 is an excellent price!! You have to think about the price of the implants alone...and like the other girls said the anesthesia and the operating room alone usually cost that. But I honestly would be concerned with him going in again and doing it so soon. Like the other girls have said...its usually 6 months!! Becareful! You dont want $3000 ending up costing you tons more because of complications from surgery too soon!
