Hi everyone! I'm scheduled for a re-do November 17th with Dr. Dewire. I'm scared, but very excited - as I hear that he is great! I'm curious about the recovery time - as I currently have textured saline and am going to Silicone. I know that textured are more difficult to remove - and I have only 3 days off from a pretty physical job. Also, any comments on swelling etc - and how one looks in clothes during recovery. I'm not telling my co-workers about the surgery. Any comments would be appreciated!! www.justbreastimplants.com/DeWire/ |

Dr. DeWire is my ps too, and he did my redo 4 years ago. I had a very easy recovery, but if I were you, I would NOT recommend getting into a very physical job only 3 days after your surgery. Can you be put on light duty? No matter how good you might FEEL, you will still only be a few days post-op, and doing too much strenuous work can cause you problems. I went larger when I had my redo. I went from 400cc to 575cc. I had very little dropping to do, and I looked normal in clothes right away. Are your implants unders? If they are, you shouldn't have too much of a problem with the implants being "high" on your chest. |

If you have a physical job you may qualify for STD (short term disability). I qualified even though it is elective surgery. Something to look into

Thank you Nikki and Monica for your reply! I will look into modified duty. I don't want to risk any unnecessary complications....its difficult to go on short term disability when you don't want to advertise what you're having done ;>) www.justbreastimplants.com/DeWire/ |

Well, if you can't get on short term disability (which probably would be hard to do), I would at LEAST ask for light duty. You can tell them that you have had "female" surgery, and that you need to be on light duty for a bit. Chances are, they aren't going to ask you what KIND of "female" surgery you had. Are you in Richmond, or are you travelling to DeWire? |
