Question are all silicone implants cohesive gummy bears?

I just made an appointment today with a doc who has a big ad in the local paper saying she has "the new cohesive silicone implants". When I called, i asked if they were the gummy bear type and was told yes...that everyone had these now.....

is this true? from my research, i thought you had to be a part of a study to get these. can anyone enlighten me?

thanks.

I'm not sure, but I think they're the same.

You don't have to be part of the study anymore. The FDA lifted the ban on silicone implants. And yes, they are all cohesive gel. They are definitely better than saline, IMO. Good luck with your appointment.

All gummies are cohesive silicone gels, but not all cohesive gels are "gummies." Gummies MUCH firmer than the regular gels, and come in the anatomical textured form. Most round smooth silicone cohesive gels available in the US are of cohesive I Level, meaning they are the softest gels available. Gummies (Level III cohesive) retain their shape totally, and are less prone to rippling. The trade off is that they are not as soft. Cohesive I silicones are the ones that are available without a study, and the Gummies (Cohesive III) are available so far only in clinical trials.

i went for my first consult yesterday & asked about the gummies...doc said that they might be "too" hard...but it was too early to tell since they are just in trials. the silicone seemed fine to me.....but still in early stages of planning.

I think there are different levels of cohesive. My PS told me mine are much the consistency of JELL-O. If there's a rupture, it won't oooze. Some have more firmness like the gummies. HTH.

The gummies definitely are firmer than the other cohesive gels, but they aren't rock hard or anything like that. They're just not as mushy. I don't think I'll ever need to wear a bra because they are always perky.

veronika will become famous soon enough
the only true "gummy bear" implants are anatomically shaped. There are other silicone implants that are cohesive gel that arent AS firm as the true gummy bear implants and they come in both round and anatomical shapes.
