So I have finally scheduled by first consult and am wandering what exactly will happen at my appointment. How many appointments before the actual BA? Is there a waiting period before the surgery? How long do you think the whole process will take? Sorry all the questions but I am soooooo nervous since I finally made the decision to do it. I have wanted to get a BA for years but never did. Now I can't wait. Any help would be great. Thanks

All these questions depend on your PS. But I will tell you how it went for me.

At the consult we discussed what "look" I was trying to go for and how I did not want to look. We discussed things like incision placement, implant profile and placement, and size, of course. Then we tried on sizers. He took my before pics. Then I talked to his receptionist, she showed me some before and after pics of his former patients and printed me out a cost breakdown for the BA. She also gave me pre-op instructions and a tenative surgery date. In my case, I wanted to wait til the end of the summer for my BA so there was 2 months in between my consult and surgery. She said even if I hadnt chosen to wait, I prolly wouldve had to anyways bc my surgeon is busy and fills up fast. In that time period I had to see my GP for a physical and to fill out a medical history form for my PS. I also had to get bloodwork done.

I JUST HAD MY CONSULT LIKE A WEEK AGO. MY PS WAS GREAT FIRST THEY LET ME TRY ON SOME IMPLANTS AND THEN WE DICUSSED THE PROCEDURE AND HE DID SOME MEASURMENTS. ALL IN ALL I THOUGHT IT WAS FUN!! I HAVE NOT SET MY DATE YET BUT PLAN ON IT IN THE NEXT FEW MONTHS.. GOOD LUCK!!

Your PS will let you know all of that.

Be prepared. You will have to stand before ps nude from top up. Ps will measure and look for abnormalities, symmetry, etc. My pointed out all of the negatives (which really upset me and almost made me cry). But he only did it to explain to me that my negatives (such as nipples that point out, etc.) will still be there. I told him I didnt care.........all I want is volume. I love my breasts the way they are.......except the volume. Its just hard to stand naked before someone and have them point out all of your problems. But thats what you are there for .........to fix one of the problems.....small breasts!

Just wanted you to prepare yourself for that. If you expect it, then it doesnt make it that bad.

Do your research and make a list of questions or points that you want to discuss.

Usually, you have a consult, then a pre-op, then the surgery. If you dont feel completely comfortable with the consult and ps, dont be afraid to try another doc. Thats what I did. The second doc I visited was more expensive, but I went with him because I felt he was more of a quality ps. Go with your instinct.
