sorry in advance for the length of my post!
but i want to know how many girls out here have overs but had NO prior sagging/drooping issues and were NOT borderline for a lift?it seems almost all overs are due to these issues. i think I've seen maybe one or two cases where the girl got overs without having been saggy or in need of some sort of lift. and in these few cases it seems that the implant is EXTREMELY noticeable. the reason I'm asking is that I've got unders now and have been contemplating switching. i have NO sag, have never had children, am pretty thin, etc. when i got my boobs done i decided i wanted to start dancing again, but i didn't think the whole "muscle flex" would be something way noticeable. i hate the way they look when i have to use my arms to do pole work. the implant totally seperates itself.. its NOT attractive! it is fine with arms down and muscles relaxed. I've got enough breast tissue to do overs (as my ps had said) but I'm so concerned with the implant being visible and of course hearing how overs sag quicker. can anyone offer any advice or opinions.. or share any pics?? or.. does anyone know if there's something surgically that can be done about the severity of the flex? or why in some women its more noticeable than in others? because working in this industry i see so many breast augmentations and never any overs but rarely do i see any of these flex issues. thanks ladies!! any info would seriously help me. i never thought the whole "flex" thing was going to be like THIS, and i really hate it. it gets me so down.. |

i dont think you can do anything to make them less distorted when you flex, i think switching to overs might be your best bet if that is your concern...sag comes inevitably with age and the weight of the implant...overs have less support in a sense because they dont have the muscle and the facsia (sp?) linning to support the implant. I dont think its a big deal to have some distortion...i mean, when you are dancing i think the men are too focused on the dance and not if your boobs are distorted...i personally wouldnt have another surgery just for that reason but to each their own.

thanks for the response.. but its not just a little bit of distortion.. it is BAD deformity when flexing. when relaxed i look fine and normal, but any upper arm and chest use and it goes from normal to looking like two seperate breasts.. like a double bubble but only when flexed. it is hard to find good examples of this but this one is pretty close. bottom set of pictures.
http://breastimplantsvirginia.com/au...category_id=54 mines not quite that bad, but as you can see, its not something little or something that is not noticeable. its very obvious and is absolutely NOT attractive. i was asking about fixes to this issue because i have read on forums and sites where doctors address this problem as "tissue scarring to muscle" and suggest a revision to correct the problem. BUT nowhere have i found what the exact "fix" for this is. and dancing isn't really the big issue.. even simple things like lifting my arms to undress in front of my boyfriend require slight use of my chest muscles and even with slight use it seperates like that. i didn't hate my chest prior to my surgery, i just wanted what i had but bigger. but now i can't even be intimate unless i have my shirt on. its depressing. don't get me wrong, when relaxed i LOVE my new girls. they are perfect and my dr did such a great job. its just when they're flexed they look completely different, as you can see in the example. its beyond a little distortion. You can actually release the scar tissue from the muscle and hope it heals better, there's no guarantee though, it might just end up exactly the same.
I got overs exactly so that I wouldn't get flex distortion when doing pole tricks. I have a group in the private galleries if you want to apply.

Quote:
I had a dbubble and flex issue. I have overs now. Pm me and i will send you a few photos of what i had . The scar tissue attached and i had a double bubble in my leftie.. Only problem is i can see a wee bit of rippling. My family thinks i am nuts. I am in the future going to change out for the gummy bears for less rippling. Not in the cards right now. But they do look normal again..

I got overs with no prior sagging and very little breast tissue. They don't look too fake because I didn't go too large. There are many factors that determine what your breasts will look like. The placement is one of the least important factors (check out what Dr. Momeni has to say about it - there are a few threads about this). People really overestimate the difference it makes in appearance. There are plenty of reasons to get unders, but aesthetics is rarely the main reason why PS's prefer it. If your PS said you have plenty of tissue for overs, then I'm sure it won't make a difference in how they look. I tend to agree with Veronika though that it doesn't seem like it's worth another surgery. If it really bothers you though, and you really want to switch to overs, then I'm sure you'd be happy with the final outcome. I doubt they would look any different.

I got subfascials for this exact reason - couldn't get overs cos I didn't have enough tissue to cover the implants, and my PS point blank refused to do unders after I told him about my pole work. Subfascials have done it for me - I get no horrible movement when I flex, the most I get is about the amount you get with natural boobs, and I have no sag whatsoever. So there is an answer!!! I also have a yahoo group if you wanna see pics... pm me if you want the link.
Good luck

Im sorry you are having problems with flexing Caryn my friend had overs, she did have a slight sag which it has corrected but her main reason for having overs was because she does weight training. You can see her implants and her breasts look very round but that is because she had the biggest implant they could fit in. Shes really pleased with them and they do look very good, this is the look she wanted. I wanted a more natural look so I went for unders. I didnt find this forum unfortunately untill after I had my ba, the info Ive since learnt would have been invaluable to me prior to having it done. I did weight training prior to having my ba as I do indoor rock climbing and mountain scrambling so upper body strength is important to me if I want to remain competative, which I would like to. Im now thinking about going back into training now 12 weeks have gone by, but Im feeling worried about doing my implants harm. Id appreciate it if someone could tell me if it is possible to harm my implants, its really putting me off.
I hope you manage to get sorted Caryn, having overs might be the answer for you if you can face more surgery. Good luck to you Sue |

My surgeon actually told me that partial unders have a tendancy to bottom out as the muscle is sitting on top of them and pushing them down over time.. I think there are so many different opinions in the medical world, who is to really know? For me, subfascial was a compromise between unders and overs and I think i made the right choice for me and my lifestyle etc. Good luck!! |

I don't think they're the same. From what I can gather, partials are top plane under the muscle, lower plane over the muscle, whereas subfascials are completely on top of the muscle, just under the fascia covering layer. It's still a fairly new placement technique, so I was pretty lucky to have a PS who's up to date on the latest stuff

You're absolutely right Jacqui
Subfascials is an overs placement, it is under the muscle fascia (the membrane covering the muscle) but over the muscle. On partial unders the top part of the implant is under the muscle and the bottom part is covered fat/milkglands.
