Red face Years post BA

Ive been thinking about getting a BA, 'surpirse surprise', and one of my main concerns is the long term affects. Ive read a few articles, some say that you have to have your BA re-done/upgraded every 10 years or so.. can be more depending on the individual, has any one here had their BA done for that long? Would be REALLY handy to know thier story. And also does the cost stay the same everytime you go to get them fixed etc.? ... I meen they are the main factors that i have on my mind at the moment, would be fantastic if someone could answer these questions.. if not i could just ask a surgeon, problem is there arent any on the message boards that are australian, so ... lol, anyone?

My mother in law has had breat implants for 18 years. She got a redo two years ago after having her silicone implants in for 16 years. She had to have another redo this past April because one of the implants the surgeon used was defective (not leaking, just oddly shaped) The cost between her first implants and now varies, yes, because the economy 18 years ago and today is very different. Breat implants ARE NOT lifetime devices and they WILL have to be replaced. While you are considering implants that is one thing that you need to think about at the same time. Can you afford a redo in the future.
When you say "affects" what exactly do you mean? There are no "diseases" caused my breast implants, scar tissue forms and capsular contracture happens in every woman to varying degrees, it's your bodies way of healing itself. The problems arise when the pocket or scar tissue builds up too much.
My PS told me that on average implants last around 10 years, but again every body is different, she personally will not replace an implant until there is a problem, leakage, etc. She won't replace implants every 10 years just because 10 years are up, it depends on the wear etc.
I don't think it makes a difference whether you ask your question to an Australian surgeon or not, I was under the impression that the same types of breat implants were used all over the world, being as there are very few manufacturers.
Anyways, I hope that this helps you some.
