1 year post-op visit today...

I went in today. Basically I was told that I have grade II CC but that it isn't a problem (didn't even know I had it until today). I was told that it's b/c of my thin skin and lack of breast tissue. He said it's pretty common with my skin/lack of breast tissue and saline implants. Usually the 1 yr mark is all he see's his saline patients (unless a problem arises) but I am to go back in 1 yr to be checked on again. He thinks giving me textured silicone will help with everything (even my dropping issue) but I am still unsure.

He said looking at me I look very very natural and if that is the look I like he wouldn't give me another surgery. He said he isn't going to do anything for the CC but it isn't something that can be fixed (unless I opt for another surgery) and since it isn't noticable or bother me, he said to just leave it.

I asked if it could get worse and he said only if I continue to drop.... MORE. Dang, I thought I was so done with dropping but he thinks that since I have thin skin and not alot of breast tissue I could drop even MORE over the next year (SO NOT WHAT I WANTED TO HEAR!!!) He thinks giving me the textured would help keep the implant in place and I wouldn't have all the dropping that I've had.

He did say that I had this problem pre-breast augmentation (I could hold a pencil before breast augmentation, soooo) basically all I did was enhance my pre-breast augmentation boobs.

Anyway, you know what I said?! I love my boobs, regardless. I really dont want another surgery right now. He said I am very natural with a nice slope and he's recently done a few surgerys that he removed the silicone and put in saline b/c the patients wanted more of a slope that you typically get with saline. He said as long as I was happy he would see me again in a year to take another look and discuss a switch to silicone.

We'll see. Oh and the soreness I feel from my breasts being bounced or handled alot is due to 1) the CC and 2) saline implants. he thinks that if I ever switch to silicone that the everyday soreness would go away b/c silicone tends to flow with the body and is more of a gel, whereas saline is a bit firmer of a substance so it gives my boobs a workout, so to speak.

I'm going to be adding my 12 month pics soon, I believe the last ones I have up are 10 months.

Anyway, very happy with my boobs and he did a fantastic job.

Glad your appointment went ok, even if it wasn't everything you wanted to hear After all, it is your body and as long as you are happy with the end result- then that is all that matters!!

Sounds like your check-up went pretty well even if it wasn't everything that you wanted to hear. All that really matters is that you're happy.

Thanks, Anne. I honestly blame my skin and breast tissue on my "problems". I dont think it's the saline implant, per se b/c obviously plenty of people have them and are just fine. It just so happens with my anatomy, saline isn't meshing with me, but like my PS even said, I didn't have a choice in what was used.

Good news and bad news

Jess, sorry you got both good news and bad at your checkup. I am surprised he isn't giving you anything for the CC, I am very curious about that! Does he think it is too far advanced? Hmmmm. And I sure am sorry he said you might keep dropping if that isn't what you were wanting. But I am glad you are happy with your boobies and don't want a redo at this point. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope all goes/stays well with you...(((Huggers))) and XXX

he isn't concerned with my CC b/c it isn't distorting my breast or are they hard. If you squish the upper part of my breast (right around the areola) it's a bit hard and that is the only sign of CC that I have. I asked about him giving me something or doing something and he said it isn't something that I need to worry about. He did say that if I do drop more it could make the CC worse b/c my skin will be stretching to accomidate the implant. i dont know, lol.

He said "support, support, support" that is all I can do at this point to help with my dropping issue. It actually has a name (the condition I have with the implant dropping so much) but i dont remember what he called it, he just pointed out that I had this condition pre-breast augmentation with my regular small boobs, which I did. I always had a slope with my boobs. He said I borderline needing a lift but he hates to do that to me when he thinks a textured silicone implant could fix my problem.

It's funny b/c even after taking all this in, I still think my boobs look nice and he even said that I look like I grew em'! he said it isn't anything that needs major attention or even another surgery, just depends on what *I* want.

Thank you! I was actually NOT surprised b/c my dropping has been an issue with me for awhile now, so I knew it was coming but I guess you still just dont want to hear it, lol.

I'm so glad you're happy with your results. I remember when I first joined JBI ~ you were at your 6.5 month mark and you were talking about the redo. The consult seems to have gone very well and that's wonderful. I'm in the same boat as you, if I haven't noticed before, it's not a real problem. Congrats on your 1 year!

Wow Jess, I'm sorry to hear this....but I love your positive attitude and the
fact that you are still happy with your girls despite this small problem.
I think you look great and I totally understand why you love your boobies and don't want to change a thing.

I'm also happy for you that your consultation went well albeit the fact that you ps has diagnosed you with grade II cc. Well, at least now you know about it and could probably do something about it before it aggrevates...ie massage your breast (especially the top part) and wear a good supportive bra to prevent further dropping.

I would like to know how hard it feels...as it also came as a surprise to me that at grade II, the breast will still feel very normal. I am almost 1 month post breast augmentation and I also find that the top of my left breast still feels very hard...

Thank you. I do feel very normal, very jiggly and soft. I nearly fell over when he told me. He said it and I was like "what?? hold on, what did you say??" Noooooooooooo!!!

Honestly, I never really gave the hardness that I do feel any thought. My thinking was that it was from the incision/scar tissue, that is what it feels like (to me).

Jess, I'm sorry you got a less than perfect report from the PS- what a shock it must've been! Honestly though, you look fabulous, and if I were you I'd probably leave well enough alone, too. Congratulations on hitting the year mark!
