That would be me. I had a fibroadenoma and at the same time of extraction, they gave me a lift and implants. Fibroadenomas rarely reoccur and it's perfectly safe to have both done. I researched it and have been through it. If you have any questions you want to ask, PM me. I just had my BA on Oct 1.

Have you had a biopsy done (meaning, are you SURE it's a fibroadenoma)? If you have, and you're sure of the diagnosis, I say go ahead and get the ba. But I would opt to have it removed while the ps is in there. If you've NOT had a biopsy, I'd do that to make sure it's a fibroadenoma.

Absolutely have the biopsy. When I had my ultrasound done, it wasn't clear if it was a fibroadenoma...they thought it was cancer. When I had the biopsy done, it came back as cancer, but also revealed a fibroadenoma present. Weird, I know. When I just had them removed one was a fibroadenoma (which is what I felt), the other was a small lesion of ductal carcinoma. Even if your dr. says no biopsy is necessary (mine did)...insist on it for your piece of mind. Even if you don't have a family history or even if you are really young, You need to do it to be 100% sure. Drs. make mistakes all of the time and misdiagnose people. It happened to me. Had I not insisted on a repeat biopsy and pushed, who knows how far this could have gone.

Another thing, Fibroadenomas grow off of hormones, they have the ability to grow very rapidly. In fact, they can triple their growth in one month. So I was told, and experienced. I let mine go too long and it distorted my natural breast. They also can get really tender.

We are here for you if you need us. But please, take care and get a biopsy.

Fibroadenomas are no big deal in the medical world, as long as you have a biopsy to prove it. But if they are doing the BA anyway-it will be a bonus to have it removed at the same time! No additional scar!! Good luck!
