Cool Happy 1 month anniversary to the new me!!

Hi all you beautiful gals!!
This is such an awesome website, I so wish I'd discovered it prior to my breast augmentation...
which was exactly 4 weeks ago
(hehe.. maybe I can at last have that glass of champagne to celebrate!!
My doctor said no alcohol post surgery for 4 to 6 weeks!! Did you all go through that ??)

This site would have totally have made me more prepared as to what to expect and so on.. and especially what to think ahead about!!! (I love the planning list of what to do prior to surgery! thank God I had my lovely husband to take care of me - and the laundry, cooking, grocery shopping... - after my surgery!! lol )

So well done, Nikki!! and good for all of you who discovered this site early enough!!

And, yes, I still have plenty of questions and would love to get some feedback from all you more experienced girls in the area... I will be posting some questions right away!!!
But please go ahead and let me know... WHEN exactly can I have that first drink???

Thanks girls, and talk to you soon

Hi again..
Alicia, I am in LA.. I have, thanks to you, just added that to my signature (I am changing it every day, as I discover new things I'm supposed to add there.. hihi)
I used Dr David Kim in BH. I'd seen a couple others before but I liked him best of all.

My recovery has been GREAT, Tam.. I mean, really, I felt hardly no pain the first few days - after day 2 I stopped the Vicodin. And it was a little sore to massage at first ( I stated after 1 week), but only tender in the begining, a few minutes into massaging they did not feel tender anymore. And by the second week it felt much better, and the third was back to "normal" - except for the nipples that are still ultra sensitive (I did get the areola incision, so maybe that is why?)
But I have no complaints at all - I really was expecting a tough ride, and it went very smooth!!!
Good luck to you too!!

Hmmm. It never occurred to me that drinking alcohol might be a problem afterwards? You seriously had to wait 4 - 6 weeks? Geez. Anyone else told to wait that long? I'm not a huge drinker but I definitely like a glass of wine here and there, as well as a beer or two when I go to sporting events! My breast augmentation is a week from Friday...if I'm told to wait 4 - 6 weeks before I have any alcohol then all the holiday parties I'll be attending just won't be as much fun! LOL!

Hi Julie..
well, my instructions were clear - NO alcohol 2 weeks prior and 4 to 6 weeks post...
I know!!!

I am no big drinker either.. but I love red wine and champagne!! I thinhk it has to do with healing.. alcohol makes you dehydrated..

Also they said no smoking 2 to 3 weeks prior and I don't know about after, but I don't smoke, so I don't remember exactly.

Either way, I had a couple of champagne glasses about 3 weeks after surgery for Halloween.. doesn't seem to have done any harm

But if you can, do avoid the first couple of weeks, I think that is actually good advice (it's been 4 weeks for me yesterday, and believe me, this weekend I WILL have my glass of wine!!)
