Adjusting Nipple Position under Novacaine?

I am not very happy with where my nipples ended up - they are too far down on my breast.

I mentioned this to my PS and he said that if it continued to bother me that he could do a nipple lift in his office using a novacaine type numbing agent on my nipple area and simply cut away a half moon shape of skin above my nipple, bring my nipple up to make it more toward the middle of my breast and whaa laa - pretty nipple.

This doesn't sound like something that is commonly done, if done at all. At least I have never heard of it. I am thinking that anytime you are opening a part of the body in that way it should be in a sterile operating room environment. I am feeling skeptical . . . any thoughts?

I've never really heard of it, but I guess it technically could be done under local anesthesia.... I know my gramma had a minor chest surgery under local anesthesia once, so I guess as long as they freeze the area it wouldn't be too bad... Maybe call another PS for a second opinion?

My first thought is OUCH, followed by NO WAY! LOL I don't think I could mentally handle that - I'd have to be knocked out (although I did manage to do a c-section while staying "awake"). My nips sit really low in relation to my breast, and my PS pointed that out to me many, many times pre-breast augmentation. He never once offered any solutions - it seemed like they are what they are and that I'd just have to live with it. I think it's great that your PS has given you an option to have this corrected. I'm interested to hear how it goes if you decide to do it. Keep us posted!!!

I had a chunk of my leg (thigh) cut out using the same kind of thing. I just had to not look, I couldn't feel anything.. that's for sure. But it really is mind over matter... not sure if this is the same ball park as a nipple though.

I've heard of the nipple lift that you're describing... but I'd be skeptical of him doing it in the office too. Unless he has a surgical suite attached to his office??? I definitely wouldn't be comfortable with him doing it in the consulting room!

IDK. Keep us posted on what you decide!

I've understood it's pretty common, helps keep the surgery costs down... It isn't too big of a procedure, really, and I wouldn't be too worried. If you can ignore the icky factor. It's not too invasive surgery so I wouldn't worry too much about doing it in the office.

Sounds like a crescent lift to me. It's a VERY common procedure. It's actually a form of "breast lift" -- the least invasive, simplest kind. My PS said if I still need it at 4 months post-op, he will do it under local anesthesia in his office, and it will take a half hour. (That's per breast, I guess -- I only need it done on my leftie).
