Good Movies To Watch In Recovery?

Since I'll have a lot of time on my hands, I thought I'd make a list of must see movies for while I'm recuperating. Feel free to make your own list or to make my list your own.

Comedy:

Death Becomes Her with Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn. LOL. I love that movie. It has a plastic surgery theme.

Drop Dead Beautiful with Denise Richards. About Beauty Pageants.

Romie and Michelle's High School Reunion

Broken English (Parker Posey) About a thirty something singelton and her dating life.

You, ME, and Dupree - Ben Stiller, Kate Hudson, and Owen Wilson dude.

Dan In Real Life- Steve Carell

Disaster Genre:

Poseidon Adventure (Thinking because next time I get on a boat, I'll automatically float)

The Towering Inferno. If I'm ever trapped in a fire, I'll just jump chest first, the implants will break my fall.

Camp

Mahogany - Diana Ross and Anthony Perkins. Poor fashion design student turns fashion model turns mega fashion designer. Anthony Perkins plays the photographer that is obsessed with her. The fashions stink, but who cares, it's Diana Upside Down Ross everybody!

Mommie Dearest with Faye Dunaway

Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? Bette Davis and Joan Crawford. Two sisters, one a child star her lost her career and luster, the other who downtrodden by her baby sister as a child went on to become a huge star in her later youth only to have it taken away by a tragic car accident, or was it?

Answers the question of what will become of the Olsen Twins in 3o years.

Classic:

Waterloo Bridge ( Mae Clark) This was the original and not the remake with Vivian Lee. A real war time tear jerker.

Pocketful of Miracles (Bette Davis) This is where a poor beggar becomes queen for a day courtesy of a kindly gangster so that she can impress her daughter coming home from school with her fiance.

Now, Voyager- Bette Davis. Not a comedy, but still good. It has a self transformation element.

Anything with Joan Crawford

Horror

Rosemary's Baby - (Mia Farrow) As much as I hate the bastard who directed it, the visuals and story are stunning.

The Shining- Jack Nicholson. What can I say, RED RUM! Red RUM!

I'll post more later.

I watched the Truth about Cats and Dogs yesterday when I got home from my surgery and Manequin and Remember the Titans today. I never actually just get to sit around and watch movies so I am LOVING this.

Thanks for posting those!

That's on my to do list for tomorrow - go to the movie store to rent movies, and I'll be sure to take your recommendations along.

I did get a 4 part series from the library..The Six Wives of Henry VIII. I'm sure this is the ONLY time in my life I'll have to watch something like this from start to finish. And, there's no way my husband and daughter would sit through it. So, kinda looking forward to the recovery time a little bit...

I'll admit to being a bit of a movie freak. I have well over 200 DVDS. About 100 VHS.

The Godfather trilogy. It takes awhile to watch all 3 parts, but it is SOOO good. I treated myself to that last weekend. It had been awhile since I last watched it.

American Beauty is one that I watched over and over after my 1st breast augmentation.

Mommie Dearest - oh God, I've seen that movie scores of times. I LOVE it.

Blow - this is such an awesome movie. In addition, Johnny Depp is easy on the eyes.

Scarface

The Departure

I didn't watch comedy. I didn't want to laugh. It wasn't exactly a comfy feeling, lol.
