I notice that there are a lot of tall girls here scattered around the forums. I'm 5'11 and getting my breast augmentation next spring (HOPEFULLY!!!). I was hoping all the tall girls could post any info they got relating to their tallness! So far I've picked up that we can carry more size. Did your PS's do anything else to account for the height? I'm looking to be a small C with 300-325cc, but afraid of going too big because I'm really skinny. Anybody else got any stories to tell? Jessica C |

Well, I'm not nearly as tall or as skinny as you, but you can see my stats in my sig. As of yesterday I determined my new 36C bra I bought prior to my breast augmentation is NOT going to fit anymore, I'm already definitely going to be the small D I asked for. I have a yahoo group if you want to compare before/after, just PM me. I think 300-325 cc will definitely get you to the small C you are aiming for.

I'm 5'7 and 148 so not that thin. My ribcage is 30.5 and I have broad shoulders and big hips. Because of my wide ribcage and broad shoulders both PS I saw recommended at LEAST 400 for me to be a full C. My PS said my body would "swallow up" a small implant and recommended 450 or 500's. I ended up with 500cc Mentor Silicone HP over the muscle and now at 9 days post op I'm measuring a 34DD or 36D right now. I'm not unhappy with my 500's but I think 400 would have been enough for me to be the size I wanted. |

![]() | 5'8" 138ish
Hey Jessica - I know, all this cc stuff gets really confusing. So, I'm not as tall (5'8') nor as skinny (since surgery...closer to 138ish, used to be 135ish)...and I used to wear a 36A. My breast augmentation was 11/12, and I got 425cc's HP partial unders that were overfilled to 480 ccs. I haven't yet bought a bra with actual cups - but I think some of the sports bras I got were 36C...and I am definitely filling them out. So far, I like the size..because you can truly dress them up or down. For example, in a sweatshirt...no one would ever notice! In a halter top (not that I'm wearing them much in November in Chicago!)...they are quite lovely, if I say so myself! ![]() Really, if you trust your PS to get you to where you want to be, I think that's the best route. I initially told my PS I wanted to be a full C...but, I think we (me, husband, and PS) all decided that if we're gonna do it...we wanted to do it w/o regrets for going too small. I think my PS is brilliant! And, seriously, I didn't believe it either, but you won't believe how quickly you get used to them! It's not even two weeks for me, and I already feel like...yes, this is what I was meant to have! Okay...got a little rambling there...I guess the answer you are looking for is...no, I don't think 300cc's would be too big on your frame. Good luck! |

Hi Jessica, I had my breast augmentation on 11/12, and at 5'9", wanted a full C. The picking of a size is really tough, but like Moon said, work with the ps. I showed mine lots of pictures, and emphasized that if in doubt, I wanted to go up, not down. I've had enough of padded bras! (I started out 36A) One thing to talk about is if the ps will use sizers during the procedure. In effect they are false implants, to help the ps gauge size. They sit you up in surgery, and check out the results before committing to an actual implant. I knew my ps was starting with 400cc sizer. I ended up with 450 (under muscle), and will be a full C (or in some brands, a D). I'd say more research and information is better than less when it comes to working with the ps on the size selection process. I personally don't look large at all -- I could have easily had another 100cc and still been in proportion. |

Hey there - I am about 10 days post op, just now feeling well enough to be on the computer. I am 5'10" - 145lbs - my meat is on the bottom of my body, my top is very thin...and I got 300cc, silicone, partial under...and oh my god are they beautiful! I seriously couldn't imagine going bigger, and am really thankful that I didn't...these seem huge to me. My friend took me target shopping to buy tank tops...since I can't wear a bra for 3 months, and I put a bra cup on over my shirt just to see, and my boob fit in a D - almost a DD size cup! My skin is still stretching, I can tell they are going to get bigger, and they definitely look proportionate to my body, in fact, for the first time in my life, I feel like I might even be top heavy! wowee!

Hey Jesssica, I'm in the exact same boat as you...almost! I'm 5'10 and 120 lbs and wanting a C. Being so skinny it totally worries me going too big. The most important thing is that my boobs look natural and i feel like that's going to be quite challenging being an A cup. I'm looking at getting mine over the uni holidays with my sister. |

I'm 5'8 (135 pounds) While our bodies are definitely more suited for larger implants, the Breast Width Diameter usually dictates what size implant you can have. (the implant should not be much wider than the width of your natural breast or it looks strange) It shouldn't be a problem though as you are not trying to go overly large. I could only take 340 and 380 (maybe could have gone a TINY bit higher but not much more) because I had a fairly small BWD. I don't know what size you are starting with but I think you'll be able to take that size implant without trouble and without looking too large. |

Wanting to keep an eye on this thread also. Being tall I have been told by everyone to make sure you go bigger than you "think" you want. I am anxious to meet with my PS on the 5th for preop to see exactly what he says. So far I am looking at 425cc and hoping to be a full D. You can see in my stats not as tall/thin, but I think I qualify for the "club"??

I'm 5'10", 150lbs. I wanted a full D. I got 500cc over the muscle, silicone implants. I absolutely love them. They look very natural because of my height. I don't feel that they are too big. I would not have been happy with anything smaller. In a shirt, I look like I'm a full C. Keep that in mind as well. I'm sure you've heard it before, but fake boobs tend to look one size smaller than natural boobs. I have a yahoo site. PM me if you want an idea...

Thank you everyone for all the awesome responses! It's so hard to try and figure out if my future self will be happy with 325's or will i get pissed and want bigger????!! haha I know that I would look absolutely ridiculous with big boobs because I have no curves and I kinda look like a big tall noodle. i just want a little something to put in my clothes and bathing suits. We will see what the next 2 consults say =) JessicaC |

At 5'8" and 130, I'm usually the tallest/thinnest one around, but I feel like a runt on this post! My PS kept telling me I could go bigger, especially since I have broader shoulders. She did indeed end up putting in larger implants than I originally wanted, which was 300cc's and I got 400cc's. I think I would have been disappointed with 300cc's, and yes, everybody on the site is right when they say that you'll regret it if you stay too small, and be happy if you went larger. The PS says that too, and thankfully, many who are left to make the decision have learned that and give you the larger size. Other than going bigger, the PS did not mention any other issues regarding height. Good luck.

I'm 5ft9 and about 120lbs so while I want to go quite a bit bigger after my op, I can't go too big as I'd just look stupid. I'd like to be a DD and hope that that won't look too odd and that my height can carry it off. x |

I'm 5'9 and 135lbs. I have broad shoulders and a 32 inch ribcage. I went with 475 saline unders...and a lift (10/17). I was a deflated a/b after 2 kids. Now I'm a D or better...but if I had it to do again (and I might) I'd go with 575-600. Its no joke that we (taller ladies) can carry off MUCH bigger breasts...in fact, I didnt tell a soul about my breast augmentation/BL...and no one has noticed (co-workers). When in doubt, go bigger...especially if you are tall. Gab |
