Capsular contracture symptoms

Hi Ladies,

It feels like just as I relax about one thing another issue comes along!

Anyway, for those of you who have/had capsular contracture, what are the symptoms? I have always been a little asymmetrical (my left side is slightly lower and less full) but over the last 3 or 4 days I have started to get a weird feeling in my left breast. Up until this point my left didn't really have any issues and much less pain than my right. I can't exactly explain how it feels but it kind of feels numb and a dull ache at the same time. It isn't harder than my right or particularly painful but it looks slightly flat at the front and points down.

I am 4 weeks post op and I am still waiting to drop. Does what I have explained sound like CC, or is this kind of difference normal at this stage? I feel like I should be settling down now after 4 weeks.

I was at my ps last week (worrying about something else) and he didn't notice anything. I really don't want to keep bothering him over nothing. I wish I would just feel normal and not have to worry

At 4 weeks, you're still healing. I've had cc twice, but I never had any discomfort until it was at the late stages, at which point your breast is so deformed that there's no question about cc.

Are you taking photos on a weekly basis? If not, definitely do that b/c nothing better shows your progress than weekly pics.

What does Dr. T. say?

I am taking photos every 2ish weeks. I can't really tell from the pictures as there has always been a little asymmetry and I find it difficult to see if there are any changes.

I haven't mentioned this to Dr. T as the strange feeling only started after I had been in to him last week. I suppose I just have to wait and see what happens over the next few weeks.

Thanks,
B

Britcali, you are welcome to visit my page and look at my album, because you describe almost to the tee, what I went through at month 4.
It was just that my left pectorial muscle was holding tightly to my implant... I phoned my ps, and he suggested wearing the strap again and that it may take up to 4 weeks for it to relax.
It took about 3 weeks, and I massaged the tightness on my pectorial muscle.

I am 5 months now, and truly, I am still seeing daily changes.

warm regards...

I had cc - I didn't have any numbness and only had discomfort after I let it go on way.too.long. It was also very gradual - it didn't happen over days but rather slowly over months. I have pics of how deformed my right one got. It was concaved at the top.
