How long did you wait to take a bath???

lol random ?, but how log did you wait to take a bath? My PS never said, my incisions are under my arms, I'm almost 3 weeks PO and I'm dying to take a bath, is it ok to soak the incisions? Or even have my breasts submerged in warm water??

For bath, I waited well over six weeks. For a quite warm shower, I did it around four weeks.

My instructions were to wait until the PS cleared me, at least 3 wks though. I assume it depends on what the incisions look like. (Mine are in the crease) However, I was dying for a soak in the tub last night, so I put some tegaderm (a clear saran wrap looking dressing) over my incisions. Then I was careful not to submerge my incisions, in case the tegaderm didn't keep the water out. Finally, after my bath, I removed the dressing and put a little bacitracin on the incisions just in case. I would think keeping the transax incisions out of the water would be a lot easier. That's the important part. At your own risk though!

I have to say, taking a bath without submerging myself up to my chin is not nearly as relaxing. I can't wait until I get the ok, hopefully at my PO check on Friday!

Edited to add: I've been taking hotter than hell showers since PO day 1 with blessings from my PS. However, I also had that tegaderm dressing (which is supposed to be waterproof) on until 1 wk PO. That being said, I get my post c-section moms up and in the shower as soon as 24 hrs PO with their incisions open to air with no ill effects. It's standard practice.

I would wait until the incision has closed up. I don't remember how long that takes but my c section scar was fully closed when it was checked out at 1 week 2 days

definitely a question for your PS, but generally, i've always been told never to soak my incisions. i'm currently waiting for the stitches to come out and for my PS to give me the green light. but oh, i would LOVE a bubble bath...

Omg I too take hotter than hell showers but haven't been doing it since surgery bc I thought it was dangerous for some reason, maybe circulation or something.. I Donno! But I tried taking a bath yesterday and didn't get my incisions wet (totally sucked ass, and was so uncomfortable) so I gave up, I figured I'd ask and see what other girls did and how long they waited. I even saw my ps today and forgot to ask :/
I swear my wholllleee tummy, and back around shoulder blades feel tight and super sore like the muscles are bruised, which they aren't but that's the feeling I have, so I figured a hot bath would help!
