Good morning everyone. I had my breast augmentation yesterday and it wentwell from what i understood from the doctor. he did an under incision and gave me 400cc implants. I've been wearing the bandage and ice packs. I feel sore but now what i thought i would fee. I will probably start taking the meds only when needed. i do have 2 questions: 1. If he told you not to take the bandage off then I would say no to the bath until you see him, or call his office and ask if your not sure, maybe get in but dont get the bandage wet?. I had to wait 3 days before I could shower.

I'd say they'd let you bathe as long as the bandage doesn't get wet, but it's best to check with them first.

![]() | well done
sounds like it went well!!! im guessing you should be able to have a shallow bath and keep the bandage dry so just wash round the area. but best to ring the surgeon and make sure. i had to go 10 days without a shower!!!! |

Congratulations on your breast augmentation! You aren't going to want to expose your incisions to bath water, it's too easy to risk an infection that way. I would suggest sponge baths or you can call the office and see if it would be ok for you to take a shower. They will be high and hard for quite a while. Theres no real answer as everyone is different. |

Congratulations on your breast augmentation! I'm glad everything went well. I would check with PS just to be sure but I was able to take a shallow tub bath 1 day PO. (hubby had to help me out of the tub) I also leaned over the tub and had my hubby wash my hair. I wasn't allowed to take an actual shower for about 10 days. (til stiches came out)

My PS says no bath or spa where you're submersed in water for 6 weeks. But, I was able to take a shower after my 3-day post-op appointment. I still have my stitches in...they won't be taken out for a couple more weeks.

Thnk you all for your responses. I spoked with my ps today and he said I couldn't take a shower until I see him on Monday (Sept 25) and I can't take off the leggings until then either, nor my bra or strap they have around me..So i guess i'll be taking bird baths....lol.. I can't wait to see them on Monday..I'm so excited |

One helpful tip: Baby towels. It's easy enough to clean with those without getting anything wet!

![]() | I wish I could have it done tomorrow, I've wanted to do this for 4 years now. My soon to be ex-husband forbid it. Now that I'm a single mom - I have found time to take care of me. The earliest consult appt I could get was Oct. 16.

Congratulations on your surgery! Glad to hear you're having a pretty easy recovery. ![]() I wouldn't take a bath anytime soon. Soaking the incisions (or even getting "dirty" bath water on them) can introduce infection. Consult with your ps about when you can bathe. As for them feeling hard - it's hard to say how long they'll feel that way. Once your muscles loosen up some, they'll soften. It'll happen gradually though. Have patience....you'll get there!! |
