I was wondering something. My doctor said on my preop day I will be taking my before pics, signing papers, paying and taking my pregnancy test and getting my scripts for the surgery. Is taking a pregnancy test normal for all doctors? And if so, why am I doing it before the actual surgery rather than on surgery day? And, is it a pee test or a blood test? Just wondering...

I have had two ba surgeries and did not have to take a pregnancy test.

thanks no big deal just wondering.....i like to know ahead of time if I have to have blood drawn...

I had one on surgery day. It was a urine one. I probably would have cried if it was a blood test - haha

i took a pee pregnancy test the day of surgery i guess just as a precaution

I had to take one too. It's a quick pee test. I haven't heard of anyone having to take a blood test.

They took mine 5 days prior to surgery and i was on my period at the time and they took blood from me

I had to take one even though i had my tubes tied 2 years ago....they said they do it with everyone just to be safe

it was a urine test.

I took 2. One when I had my blood work done for my pre op, and a urine test on the morning of surgery.

I had the prego test (pee in a cup) but my PS office also took blood. That was to make sure I was healthy though and wasn't use for a pregnancy test

I didn't have to since I had a hysterectomy a couple years ago! But I know my dr usually requires one. Not sure if it is blood or urine though!

i had a blood test at my pre-op appoint to and a wee test on the day,but mine does that with pretty much all of his patients inless youve had the bits removed
