Ive been having some sinus trouble the past few days and talked with my PS today. She told me to get it checked out and if there is an infection we might have to possibly reschedule surgery! Im freaking out now. Surgery is scheduled for tuesday. Ive already got everything set up and time off work. If i have to reschedule i probably wont be able to do it til the school year is over (im a preschool teacher). My luck i am going to come down with something. The doc said as of now theres no infection and to start taking claritin for my allergies in which ive had trouble with before. Hopefully all is good with starting the medication three days before surgery. Ive been wanting this surgery FOREVER so i am going to be SO bummed if its going to have to be rescheduled!! Its an emotional thing to prepare for and if i have to prepare all over again im going to go crazy!!

UGH! I have sinus problems too, so I can sympathize. I'm crossing my fingers that it will all be OK...rescheduling would be a big pain, I know it sure would be for me too...sometimes those "windows" are few and far between!!
Have you ever used sinus irrigation? I use a Naso Cup (google it, it should come up) and it has been a life saver for me. I was at the dr. for sinus infections all the time and now I might get one once per year. Good luck!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed for you! A couple of days can make all the difference in feeling better. I actually came down with the flu three days before my BA! I had NEVER had the flu before in my life. I couldn't believe it. I had a high fever (102.5) on Sunday, called my PS, and he actually was willing to wait it out with me. I still had a 102 fever on Monday, and again, he said we could wait to see how I feel on Tuesday, which was my BA date! He would have been fine with operating if my fever came down, probably because I'm young and in good health otherwise. It was actually ME who rescheduled, because I just felt like crap, and had never had the flu before and was nervous about having surgery at the same time. Plus, I was almost sick with anxiety - checking my fever constantly ... and I just really needed to chill out and relax and recover from the flu. Thankfully, I was able to reschedule for two weeks later, though at a great inconvenience. I'm a freelance writer, and had to move a lot of projects around and be up and writing a couple days after my BA.
Anyway, the point of my story is that a lot of PS's perform BAs even if you're under the weather. They just stress being as healthy as possible because they really want you to take care of yourself prior to surgery ... and of course being healthy is the optimal way to go into it.
