hey girls! i got my breast augmentation almost 5 months ago and i seem to be having a lot of boobie issues. for starters, my surgery experience was terrible and i swelled up like a balloon. i have a million bright red stretch marks and my stitches were bleeding 3 days post op. well, i still have the stretch marks but i guess they will fade away. i went to my ps today and my right boobie seems to be out of place. it goes pretty much under my pits and its uncomfortable. the implant is a lot harder than the other and it doesnt look round. i went from a 36b to a 36D or DD (depending on the bra, more specifically 475 cc's, crease incision, under the muscle, round, smooth, implants) my dr says that im going to have to have surgery again. he says that hes going to put it into place and go in by the same incision. he also says i can opt for local anesthesia rather than general. has anyone had this happen to them??? plz help! |

Oh gosh, I'm so sorry you're having to deal with this!!! ![]() I don't know if it will hurt as much as the first surgery-I sure hope it doesn't! I do think that with local you're out but not FULLY out. You aren't aware of anything but you are still breathing regularly without a tube. You're just not quite as heavily sedated. GOOD LUCK to you girl! I really hope that everything works out just fine for you! |

So sorry to hear about the problems you are having! When I had my breast augmentation they used Twilight Sedation which is not a general anaesthetic. They injected it into a vain in my wrist and in less than a minute I was out like a light. I have no memory of the surgery or even getting home after it! It is alot more gentle on the stomach than general anaesthetic. However, it depends on what type of anaesethetic he is using... |

Hi. Don't know about pain, but have heard a redo/revision is not as painful as the original breast augmentation. I didn't have my breast augmentation w/ a local, but I've had 2 other breast surgeries w/ a local and it was great. I was slightly groggy w/ one, but not the other (my choice), but w/ both I was given something to calm me and really breezed through the surgery. The numbing shots were more uncomfortable than painful and were over pretty quickly and when it was over, I felt just fine. I actually enjoyed not having the wake up nightmare of general anathesia (shakes, swelling, sore throat...) I don't think you can make a bad choice here; whatever you decide will be the right thing for you. Let me know how it goes. I see my ps next month and have concerns about 1 of my implants also (either bottoming out or too large a pocket). I hope it all goes well for you and I'm sorry you're going through this, but I'll bet you'll be thrilled w/the results. Best to you.
