Nipple Sensitivity

I'm 10 days PO and walked outside last night and it was so chilly my nipples were so sensitive so much more then before my BA. Is this normal? Now I keep noticing it more today. Lol

This is very normal. It should settle down as you heal.

My nipple are always hard after 3 surgeries. I have some numbness and my PS said this is actually " hyper sensitive " in them but it does not bother me anymore. I wear a t shirt bra when I have a tight top on and when I go to church I wear either black or a shrug over my top, I rarely wear anything loose fitting :-)

My nipples are more sensitive then they ever have been. It's like I am pregnant all over again!!! It definitely has settled down - I think it just takes some time.

Haha this makes me happy to read! Not to sound cold to you I hope they settle down if thats what you want. :-)
I read its bc the nerves get pushed to the surface since your breasts are more full and sometimes it is a permanent sensitivity which for me would be good. After nursing three kiddos I miss my old sensitivity dont get me wrong still hurts when my bf pinches them nut not near as much sensitivity as before breastfeeding
So I may be the odd one but I look forward to it!

I'm only 4 days PO but mine aren't sensitive. They actually feel a little numb (as does the rest of my breast). I hope I haven't lost sensitivity in them. Is that a possibility?

Yes, the numbness is normal. Then you may get hyper sensitive once some swelling goes down. Happy healing

I hope it goes away.. some at least. Its not a good sensitive, its like a chafing sensitive. (For me anyway. I really hate the freezer section at the grocery store right now. Lol

Wow, I hope the numbness and the hypersensitivity are just temporary side effects. I am going to have my BA at the end of the year and this is my biggest concern.... My nipples play an important role.... you know what I mean

I'm actually worried about nipple sensitivity so I've decided on crease incision when I have my surgery. Are the still sensitive regardless?

Incision site is actually not related to the potential loss of sensitivity.

The statistic that I've seen quoted most often is that loss of sensitivity occurs in 1-2% of patients, REGARDLESS of incision site. Not sure about hypersensitivity....

Yes, I experienced both numbness in one nipple and then later sensitivity. I actually have the sensitivity everywhere on the skin of both breasts--for me it feels just like what Supernervous wrote: "chaffing"

For SURE like chafing. Great way to describe it.

I'm 10dpo and that feeling started today. Before then, it was just numb. I have a crease incision too.

I'm 1 month PO and I still cant stand when my nips get hard, it's a very annoying feeling ESPECIALLY when I have a bra/shirt on. Luckily I'm a stay at home mom so I can just walk around topless or pull my shirt up when it happens I must say that the sensitivity has gotten better than it was a few weeks ago....I can't wait until it goes away!
