I personally am very conservative when it comes to money. I paid cash for mine, and am quite settled in life (40+ years old). If you have any doubts, please do wait. Even if you don't have any further surgeries to fund, you'll want to buy fun new bras, new clothes etc. Perhaps wait a bit to save more up? (And if you don't have a few months of living expenses, you should have that saved first). Maybe you set a goal for early next year?

I agree with the other ladies. You're smart to be looking ahead. I'd get myself in a better financial position and then do it |

Ok so I emailed the Dr office with this question here is a copy of the e-mail & I took the dr's name out Copy of e-mail I sent to Dr office: Hello my name is **** **** And I had my consultation on feb 26 With Dr Nuveen for a breast augmentation,, I was origanally wanting saline implants but after my consultation he stated I would need a mini lift and we decided on silicone implants due to me being so small and to avoid rippling,,My question is my procedure is $6500 which Iam going to save so I can have the procedure in Oct,, I know that implants are a temporary thing but my concern is me needing a revision on have a leak or anything going wrong with my implants and not being able to have the money to have them fixed,, I cant get approved for financing through anywhere so thats not an option..And Iam a single mother with an ok job so thousands of dollars do not come often& I will be staying with family until Oct to save for procedure.. Does your office have an in house finacing or any type of programs for pts that had their origanl breast augmentation at that office,, I really want this done and really liked Dr ****** Do you think that I should get this done being in my situation?? Also I wanted to know what was Dr ***** Revision rate for silicone breast augmentation's... And Here is the response I received from Dr office: ..No we do not offer in house financing, Care Credit and Karaservus are the two companies that we accept. You will not have to worry about having a leak or deflation with the silicone because the implant is a gel that doesnt leak. Dr. **** probably discussed capsular contraction in your consult. That is when scar tissue develops around your implant, it happens occasionally, but not often, and usually medication will help get rid of it. In some cases you have to have surgery to remove the scar tissue and the standard charge for any revision is 500.00. Does this sound right to everybody??? |

![]() | possible cc after BA and finance
I am 50 and had my breast augmentation when I was 48. I am financially stable and need to go in for a capsulectomy but can't find the time. Mine will cost $1000, of which none is the doctor. He is free, but you still have to pay for the facility and anesthetic. I strongly suggest that if you are a single mom and having trouble financially you think about this. You not only need to be able to pay for something if something goes wrong but you also have to be able to find the time to be incapacitated again for a redo. I would not plan on having to have one because usually things go fine. I have an 8 year old daughter and am trying to plan my time to go back in, around all her activities plus school, and there is never a good time to not be able to get up and around when you have a child. I am married and have a husband who can help and I still can't seem to find the time. Just my thoughts ...but hope it helps.

You are asking great questions. The $500 for a revision... I don't know. Is this guaranteed? Does this include anesthesia? etc etc I also am planning about $1000 per year for MRI's during my mammograms. I know not everyone goes this route, but I will. Leaks in silicones, esp if slow, are hard to detect -- and I am trying to reduce all risks. If this is a financial burden, please do consider just saving up a bit more, to buffer the cost. |

It's great that you're being so responsible about thinking this all out. You may want to wait until you have more saved up, "just in case." That's what I did. I'm also very conservative with money, so I waited a few years (I'm 25 right now), and made sure I had enough for the breast augmentation, plus enough for new bras and the ancillaries (time off, medications, odds & ends), plus enough just in case God-forbid anything were to happen and I needed to pay for a fix. I'm surprised that the answer you got said that the implants wouldn't leak ... that's not guaranteed of any implant. It's incorrect.
