Hi has anyone had an otoplasty and a breast augmentation performed on them at the same time? I'm looking into these procedures.... if there are any ladies who have gotten an otoplasty procedure done please contact me on how your healing proccess went and if it is painful? This goes for any ladies that has done both surgeries done at the same time.. will this be too much pain to handle? I am only considering doing this because I hear this can reduce the operation room fees. Does anyone know how much doctors usually deduct by having multiple procedures done at the same time? Im wondering if this will be worth doing.. I guess it depends on the pain!! I am looking to go to a doctor in IN/Chicago area..! THANK YOU!! |

I'm curious myself! Ideally, I'd like to get TUBA, rhinoplasty and otoplasty all in one day. I'd rather take two weeks off from work and relax while I heal, instead of going in and out of surgery three times in a year. I wonder if I could find a great doctor that could do all three... |

I am getting a breast augmentation redo and was looking into Otoplasty as well...but I'm holding off due to cost. My breast augmentation surgeon does not perform otoplasty, so I would have to pay full cost for the other surgeon and they still would make me pay anesthesia fees and facility fees also. But if I had a surgeon that performed both and the funds, I would definitely do it at the same time. I did go on a consult last friday with a surgeon that does both and I have yet to call for the quote. I am only doing the breast augmentation redo at this point, but if I was in your shoes, going to the same surgeon, I would get it done at the same time. |

jody - from what I saw on the internet, it's when your ears stick out a bit and they do the surgery to pin them back. Is this right ladies? |

Yes, otoplasty is when they correct ears that stick out. They take out your extra cartilage behind your ear that causes them to stick out. Results that I have seen are amazing.

That's a shame that your surgeon does not perform otoplasty.. I was actually looking into a doctor that I LOVED but did not perform otoplasty either :/ It just wouldn't make any sense for me to go to two different doctors, both procedures are expensive as it is and will be so inconvenient to have to endure and take time for 2 different procedures! Just out of curiousity.. how much is it in your area to get an otoplasty?? I keep getting quoated for around 4 g's! I couldn't afford both unless I can have a doctor reduce their fees for me! How did you like the surgeon you had a consult with?? It would be great if you can do both surgeries at the same time!! Good luck!! | |

I haven't yet got the quote from the last Dr I seen on Friday (I just have to call). But the Dr. that does it at the office of my PS that did my breast augmentation said around $4G, so that sounds about right...that's with all fees included. I'm sure when you combine procedures, the fee is reduced some. I am going to call today for the quote, just out of curiosity because I'm not ready to do it yet..so when I find out, I'll let you know. They are quoting me for a breast augmentation, otoplasty, and narrowing nostrils. |

If there's a doctor who does it at your PS's office, why can't they just coordinate schedules and once your PS is done with your breast augmentation, the other PS can come in and do your ears? That's what they proposed to do on my tumor - or what they told me that SOME doctors do, but my surgeon wasn't up for it until we had the pathology back. One surgeon who specializes in tumor removes takes the tumor out, and then the PS puts in the implants. So why can't they do this with an otoplasty and breast augmentation? |
