Question What to pack for hotel?

I am going to be staying at a hotel for 2 days after BA, the PS is two hours away from the house so I figure it was going to be easy.
I don't wanna forget anything to pack....anything that u will recommend me to take w me?

I am taking button down pj's, socks, slippers, obviously panties and medications, frozen peas, dial antibacterial soap,
what should I eat? I've heard about crackers, sprite, soup, fruits? Would I be in the mood for tv and reading magazines? Did u guys felt like doing ur makeup those days?

I always know when im weak, cos my hair and makeup dont get done !
I didnt give a jacks worth how i looked for a couple of days, by about day 3, it was upsetting me, but i was soooo weak, i couldnt be bothered anyway...
If i was having this done again, i would take bio activ yogurts with me, i suffered terribly with indigestion caused by the antibiotics, and it really hindered my recovery, the pain in my tummy was by far worse than any discomfort from my boobies, plus the yogurt drinks were delicious refrigerated ! I ate anything that was offered ! Take your mobile, so that ur not disconnected from the outside world, i watched tv and read, but was on a high so couldnt concentrate very well !
Good luck Bea, you will be great xxxxxx

Hey Bea!

The first couple days I could've cared less what I looked like. But I did get to take a shower on Day 2 so afterwards I think I maybe put on just a little make up since I was starting and wanting to feel back to normal.

Squirt, Sprite, soups, crackers, pudding cups and frozen yogurt bars got me through my recovery. Noodle soup was especially comforting!

I had a couple movies I tried to watch but the day of surgery I was so sleepy from anethesia/painkillers that I couldn't stay focused. Day after surgery though all I did was watch TV, browse catalogs and surf the internet with my laptop.

I would suggest making sure you take your favorite pillow(s) with you! It'll be nice to have them for the ride home as well.

Best of luck to you.....you'll be in my thoughts!!!

Your list of snacks sounds good...and take some yogurt as was suggested. Does your hotel have room service? That would be a big help, I think. I was too 'out of it', high on meds to remember doing much of anything the first 2 days, but who knows? Maybe at the time I was bored. I bought several magazines, but don't remember reading them until a week post-op! I think you'll be fine w/ what your taking, and good luck!

Are the restrictions on showering due to the type of incision you have? I don't see anything in my post-op paperwork about how long until I can shower.

I didnt do much of anything my first 2 days. The meds made me tired, so I know that I slept alot. I ate soup (things that can be microwaved like cup o noodles are good for hotel rooms, unless you want to order room service), and small snack type things, lots of water to help get your body jumpstarted again. I just watched tv all curled up on my couch when I was awake, so you should be okay in the hotel room. You may not want to go out, but some women have a very easy recovery and are out and about the day after, so you may want to just take another change of clothes and shoes that you can wear if you just want to get out and walk around or go anywhere. Good luck!
