What to Bring for Hotel stay after BA?
My mom is coming into town for my BA tomorrow (Sunday) and my BA is on Monday morning. We are going to be staying at a nice hotel near the surgery center Sunday through Wednesday morning. I'm afraid that I'm going to get there and realize that I needed to bring something. I was hoping some of you who have had your BA could tell me what they recommend bringing so that I am comfortable away from home for a few days.
I also want to thank everyone who shares their stories on here...I've learned SO much!!

i believe someone is doing the same thing as you....i remember we said to bring....
bring PILLOWS. as the hotel probably won't have recliner - pillows to prop yourself up while you sleep and to get comfy. blankets - depending on how cold/hot you get and how comfortable ou want to be. bendable straws water, juices, sodas, crackers, snacks. dvds, dvd player, magazines, (if not for you, for your mom) |

For me the necessities were my dressing gown, extra pillows, chapstick, dvd's, and the local tv guide. Another great idea that I got from this site was to have a list of medications, I just marked them off as I went.
Hope this helps, and best of luck for your surgery. Andrea |

I just did the hotel stay and the girls here gave GREAT advice. The bendable straws are a must. I would also see about getting a sports bottle for your water so you're not spilling it even though you have the straws. I took two extra pillows and a blanket. These were a big help on the way home also in the car. You absolutely need a note pad and pen to keep track of your meds. The boyfriend was meticulous in that - even noted what time I threw up!! Comfy pj's that button up. My ps had me in those Ted stockings for circulation on my legs so very loose elastice wasted capri pjs worked with that. Make sure you bring a spoon, fork and/or knife for the stuff you bring to eat. I had crackers and a box of Nilla Wafers along with my jello and yogurt. Boyfriend picked up french fries for dinner the second night. Mostly I slept, he read and kept track of the meds.
Good luck. My PS didn't want me to use ice but if yours does, take along extra zip lock bags. I'm excited for you!!! |
