Sleeping on Back

Hi girls,
How long did your ps tell you to sleep on your back? I am 4 days post BA and already feel like I can sleep on my side, but wondering if I shouldn’t rush things. I don’t want to worry about movement of the implants occurring.

Hi!! Congrats on your surgery! How are you feeling? My ps instructed me to sleep on my back for 7 days. He told me I could lay on my sides for short periods (15 minutes or so) if it would give me any comfort. I was freaking out because I am a tummy/side sleeper...I hated being on my back..drove me NUTS!!

I slept on my back for about 4 weeks. My PS told me it was ok after 2 weeks, but it was too uncomfortable for me. =)

My PS said 2 weeks, if I remember correctly. I didn't start sleeping on my side for long periods of time till 4 weeks or so, though... it felt too odd.

I think you only really need one week to sleep on your back. Try being on your side for small increments and see how you feel. If you think that you're ok, then go for it.
I personally hate sleeping on my back, I don't think anyone really does.

My PS wanted me on my back as long as I could go; he felt that everything heals better in place that way. I managed five weeks on my back. It was no easy feat; I'm a side sleeper.
