How long from arrival to departure at the surgical ctr?

Hi all, I am still in the "dreaming of a breast augmentation" phase. I am planning out my breast augmentation pretty carefully irt to time. My dh is a teacher, and I'm hoping to have my surgery the day he goes on Christmas break, 12/19. 12/19 is a Friday and he has exams that week Mon. - Fri. My friend will keep our kids and I was hoping he could drop me off on the way to school and pick me up afterward, so I'd be at the surg. ctr./hospital from 7 a.m. until 3p.m.(ish). From what I'm reading here it sounds like the time you spend at the surg. ctr. is much less than that though. I really don't have anyone else to ask to pick me up. I've got some time to puzzle this out though. I don't want to wait until Mon. 12/22 b/c I want as much time as possible before 12/24. My IL's get together on 12/25 and I'm hoping I'll be okay to go, if not I'll have the "flu" and dh will take the kids on his own. Hmm, I wonder if I could schedule it for later on in the day and just hang out in the waiting room for the morning. Is that too wierd?

I had to stay 5 days at the clinic after surgery & then stayed a futher 6 days in a hotel, made the most of being in a nice hot country :-)

It was a looooong day for me. My PS's first surgery went longer than planned which caused my surgery to be postponed. Then I had a real tough time recovering from the GA. We spent 9 hours there.

I was there for something like 3 1/2 hours total. Some surgeons take longer, and sometimes they even want you to be there really early. I don't think it would be that weird to get there early, but you might get really nervous...just make sure you feel OK about it.

A little less than 4 hours for me. In at 8:00 and home just before noon. ( I only live about 10 minutes from where my PS practices. Very convenient. )

I got there at 8 am for a 9 am surgery, but my ps was delayed with his first surgery so I didn't get wheeled in until about 9:50. I woke up from my dreamy sleep at 11:40, spent probably 45 or so minutes in recovery, and was on my way home by 1:00.

Thanks for the replies Dh & I went out to dinner for our 16th anniversary last night. He is an amazing man, we're so happy together and still so hot for eachother, who could ask for more? Of course the topic of breast augmentation came up and we discussed my plan. He should be able to leave school early that day, so no worries. I just want a morning surgery time. I wish I could get them done earlier that week, but there isn't any way. This should work out okay though. The weekend will be tough. I hope I'm one of those that recovers reasonably well.
