Ladies with BA already..Pros and Cons?

There are a lot of ladies out there who are contemplating a BA but are hesitant to take the leap, for various reasons. I thought it would be neat to start a thread where us experienced gals can post our opinions on what the pros and cons of having the surgery are to us.

Some of the pros and cons for me are............

PROS:

*My clothes and bikinis look great. I fill them out so much better!
*I can wear things I didn't necessarily feel comfortable in before; halters, camisoles, low cut tops, etc. Shopping is so much fun!
*Now my body looks as great as I feel.
*No more padded bras!
*I'm more confident with my body.
*I look more voluptuous and curvy.
*I can wear sexier bras and look great.
*My boobies match my hips now.

CONS:

*For me, it's a pain finding bras with a smaller band/larger cup
*My boobies get in the way sometimes; when I'm shaving, laying in the tanning bed, and most recently I found they get in the way of riding rides at theme parks..lol, etc.
*I worry about what other people think, such as "her boobs are too big for her little body", etc, even though I know I shouldn't.
*I also tend to worry about getting mammograms when I get older; will it hurt my implants, be more painful, etc.
*Even though my clothes fit better, sometimes it's hard finding things to wear; I can't wear the cute tops that are sewn around the cups, they are made for smaller boobies. Babydolls and things like that are not flattering to me, anymore.

**********************
I'm sure there are other things, I just can't think of them right now..lol.
Either way, I love my boobies and I'm ecstatic with my decision for a BA.

I so agree with you an your pro's and cons, for me..
PROs
* I love that fact that I no longer have to wear the thick padded bras,
* and the fact that I am no longer pear shaped I have boobes that match my curvey hips and butt.lol..
*my clothes look good now.. instead of being baggy up top

CONS
*But the bra finding is the worsed part finding the bigger bras in smaller bands is almost impossible I have even got bras with a bigger band size and had then taylored but that really sucks to have to do that .. why can they just have more sizes avaliable no wonder 80% of women wear the wrong bra size.
*some clothes do not fit in the chest
*some bikinis are now a little too reveling

But I now have more confedence and would do it again!!! I love my boobies.

I'm only two weeks out but I'll chime in-

Pros-
-I finally feel balanced always having had hips and broad shoulders but small breasts
-I feel completely empowered mentally and emotionally. I would say the boobs were a huge boost to the self esteem which leads to more confidence which leads to empowerment.
-It's amazing what larger breasts do to old shirts!! First off, they all fit better, and secondly, I look one thousand times better, sexier, and more feminine in them.
- I'm pretty elated and VERY excited to start living again. I thought I'd be extremely modest about them but at this point I'm thinking I'd love to show them off a bit after all of this.

Cons-
- Getting a BA is a long physical and emotional process (aka- the roller-coaster) that can be draining and difficult (but worth it of course). I won't say that it hasn't been hard and a strain on me .... financially, emotionally, physically, and mentally.

Would I do it again? Yes, yes yes. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Girls that are going back and forth on it- do it. I went back and forth for years and am so happy I finally made it a priority. Be ready for the "roller-coaster", but know it is one of the best things you can do for yourself, as a woman.

Wink

PROS:
~Everything fits better.. I no longer have to worry if a cute dress/top would look good with a bra..

~I have wide hips and a butt so I look proportionate now =)

~I'm way more confident!!

~No more padded/water bras, padded bikini tops etc..

~Nice perky boobies that ALL my friends love =)

CONS:
~I made the mistake of telling the world so everyone knows they're implants and I get occasional "fake boob" jokes.. blah!

~The healing process suuuucks!

More pros than cons so whoever is thinking about it.. I say, do it!! If you're self-conscious about your breasts like I was it'll make such a difference in your everyday life.. I love having boobies and who cares if they're not natural.. They're MINE because I paid for them =)

Pros:
-I feel more proportionate now, my boobs balance my hips out.
-Many clothes fit better now (not all, as others have said, but most).
-No more padded bras (although I do still wear contour bras, since I tend to nip out otherwise).
-I have big boobs! And I love them.
-I get more stares than before.

Cons:
-The surgery cost a lot, and I'll have to get it done again in 10 years.
-I have to buy my bras online now.
-Not a lot of styles of bikini tops fit me anymore (my nipples are close together) and the ones that do, I check a lot to make sure I'm not having a nip slip.

The cons are so minor compared to the pros... I'm so happy I got the surgery. I would definitely do it again.

PROS:
1) I fit into clothes now (still have to see the tailor though for some items!).
2) I look much sexier in lingerie.
3) My top matches my bottom; my body is balanced.
4) I have the whole package now: brains, beauty, and the body.

CONS:
1) My body rejected the "dissolvable" stitches, which delayed my healing.
2) Working out/doing yoga is still an adjustment.
3) The girls still ache sometimes -- when I least expect it.
4) Shopping for bras -- what a nightmare; I never bothered before. Haha.

So far, the BA was worth it. I'm still adjusting to my new look, but sometimes I even forget I got anything done at all.

Thank you so much for doing this thread. Its really interesting reading all of the pros and cons of a BA. I am signed up for a seminar in Septeber for mommy makeovers and after that I tend to get the ball rolling.

I love that most of these replies included the reason to balance your boobs with curvy hips, that is the main reason I got mine done!! I have a small waist and curvy hips and was pear shaped before my BA and hated it!! People are telling me I actually look thinner now that my top matches the bottom =)

Getting a BA isn't always about just wanting big boobs!!

I feel the PROS are pretty much the same as everyone elses - which I totally love and enjoy.

CONS - They still look funny naked and my implants are taking a loooong time to drop so it might be 6+ months until I'm comfortable with anyone seeing them naked. They are still like an inch from my collarbone...
- Mine still look very fake and I feel like men can tell so they feel that *obviously* I got them for everyone to stare at so it's OK if they're blatant about it.
- My cardio has taken a serious dive already and I'm still easily fatigued. I feel like it will take forever to get back into working out.

I know most of my CONS will pass in due time but for now it kinda sucks :P

Pros:
I look good in my clothes now.
I have more self confidence.

Cons:
I have to adjust my boobs before I can sleep (side sleeper).
I have to wear a heavy duty sports bra when I walk/run.

I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them right now!

Also, on a side note, mammograms aren't that bad with implants. They are no more/less painful or uncomfortable than without implants. The only difference (for me) was that the technician had to manipulate them differently to get a clear picture.
