Pain Pump anyone had this??
I'm scheduled for a BA in Nov. They gave me the option to have a pain pump - an extra $475. I'm thinking I will take anything I can get to ease what I know will be a painful - but worthwhile - experience.
Has anyone had a pain pump - and was it worth it? Thanks in advance! |

My bestfriend's sister had one and loved it. I think hers was cheaper...but she said it was way worth it.

I had the pain pump for 4 days. I think it helped trememdously, and I definitely knew when the pump had run out!
The catheters were taped down to my sides, and then I was wrapped over that. Dh pulled the catheters out on day 4. A little fluid tends to leak when they are pulled out, so have some gauze or something handy. Then you put on a little band aid and the opening closes up within a day. Pretty simple, really. I'd go with it again. You will likely still need some pain medication in addition to the pump, but probably not as much. |

Had it, loved it, definitely recommend it!!! Mine lasted 4 days too. I still used my pain meds. I used everything I could
But I know my pain level was much lower than it would have been. Very thankful for my pain pump

I had a pain pump ...but it wasn't really an option not to have it. Im very glad I had it...bc the day after I had it removed seemed to be one of the most painful days. However, a lot of women on here have gone without and still had an ok recovery experience. So if money isn't an option I'd say go for it ....the recovery process is a long one so the more comfortable the better! good luck!
