Can I Travel By Air Two Weeks Post OP?

I have a convention to go to two weeks after surgery. Is it realistic to plan on going? My DH says to make the reservation and cancel if I don't feel up to it. He said he would ship my bag to the hotel so I won't have to carry anything onto the plane. I say it sounds like I'm asking for trouble. Any advice???

I know its not really the same thing, but exactly two weeks after my breast augmentation i went on a road trip with a bunch of friends (something i couldnt bail out on, but i didnt want to either) anyway i packed up my bag and i even drove for 6 hours! everything worked out fine and i didnt feel like it was a strain at all. but that may be because i had a very fast recovery...but all in all i was able to carry my bag and enjoy myself the entire time...

My classes started about 12 days post-op for me. And I was fine with carrying all of my books around campus all day. No problem what so ever! My breast augmentation was on December 27th and I even went out on New Years eve... I felt completly up to it so you should be fine! Good luck!

The odds are that you will be fine. However luggage could and most likely will be a problem. However you can get help at the airport. You really don't want to be lifting. So those bags with wheels will help as well.
