I am freaking out...are my boobs too far apart?

Ok...so I've gone back and forth loving my boobs, but also just thinking they were too far apart. My natural breasts had nipples that were positioned on the outer edge of my breast, so I wonder if the doctor was trying to center my nipples more over the breast mound. My implants come pretty far under my arms, and I have a lot of sideboob (which I love.)

However I was wondering if the gap between my boobs is within "normal" range, or should be considered unacceptable?? I am getting ready to see him for my 3 month post op, and I haven't brought it up yet. Should I expect him to fix it for free? I wonder if anyone else has boobs this far apart?

I posted a photo of my boobs in a photo album for my profile...I am new to this so hopefully I did it right where you can see it.

HELP!!

Hey! I have seen your pic and I think your boobs look great! They are a bit far appart, but most def not too far apart IMO. Mine are pretty far apart too still, but I am only 3 weeks PO. Besides, my PS said it might take over 3 months for them to get soft and to be able to get them closer together. So dont worry, you should share your concerns with your PS and see what his opinion is too. I think you look really good though .

Good luck *

I think the actual breasts look great, but if it were me I would be concerned about how far apart they are. It does seem a little excessive.

Hi,

I'm new at all of this, as I"m only 2 weeks post-BA, but I think the spacing between your breasts seems excessive. I'm not knowledgeable about what factors affect this, but i would certainly discuss your concerns with your PS at your next visit. Do you feel that it is obvious only when naked, or is it obvious in clothing as well?

CHeck out my pics to see how close my breast are to one another......
Good luck and please keep us posted!

Mine are pretty far apart - when my PS looked at me at my consult the first thing he said was "BA won't create cleavage, I'll center the implant behind your natural breast so they will still be widely spaced and pointing a little outward like they are now". I didn't really pay much attention to that at the time, but it makes more sense now.

I looked at your pics, so before your BA your breasts were more centered but the nipples were on the outer edges, right? If he did line the implant up with the nipple that would explain the spacing... They look great, but they are pretty far apart. Too far, I don't know.

Yes, they do seem far a part; however, you are still early post-op. I have not had my ba yet, but from everything I have read, time is needed to really see how your breasts will settle. The actual breasts look really nice, so I hope when they settle more, you are happy with the spacing. Either way, I would most defintely discuss your concerns at next ps appt. Good luck!

For me, my boobs pre-BA are pretty far apart. I havent seen any pictures of any of you ladies here with boobs as far apart as mine are. My PS told me that he couldnt get them closer together and that what I would get, is a bigger version of what I have now. So if you throw in the 421s, there will be more projection, more cleavage, but also more side boob. Just a bigger version of what you had.

I think your boobs look really good. They are farther apart than some girls, but thats the way your natural breasts are. You cant change that with implants. Think about where your nipple is located, if the implant was moved in closer to make more cleavage your nipples wouldnt be in the center. That would look weird. Hope I explained that right.

Ditto. Wanted to add something to that though. My PS said he could move my nipples if I want him too, and in that case, he could possibly put the pocket in a more centered position giving me boobs that are closer together. I chose to wait on this though. But just a thought!

Give yourself time to settle. I was also told that "the boobs you have to start with are the boobs you end up with." Just a bigger version of them. There is only so much a skilled surgeon can do without causing possible unwanted complications. I had about 2 fingers width to begin with and right before my surgery, I asked my PS "their not going to be too far apart are they?" First thing when I woke up he told me he thought he got them pretty close and he did. I am now 1 1/2 - 1 3/4's. I think they got closer as they dropped so give yourself some time...

Your PS would have lined up the middle of the implant with your nipples - that is, at least, what the majority of PSs do, from what I understand. If you have boobs that are far apart to begin with, you'll end up with boobs that are far apart with implants. It's really not something you or your PS can control - unless he dissects the tissues in the cleavage area, but that can be risky and lead to symmastia if he/she over-dissects it - http://www.justbreastimplants.com/risks/symmastia.htm - not worth the risk, IMO

I'm really curious to see your post op pics. I'll admit there is a larger than average gap but it could very well be how you were built. The actual boobs themselves look fantastic.

Can you wear a special bra or strap or anything to bring them closer? I don't know if that's how it works...I don't know much about the subject, I wish I were more help!

Hey hun, it seems like your doc just centered the implant to your nipple! I was told to expect my boobs to look the exact same, only bigger. He said, I'm a PS not a magician! :P I think they look good for your body

Hey,
Not sure if anyone already said this already. But the implants are really centered with your nipples so they look right to me. How my 1st BA looked. I think if u wanted them closer you may have to switch to wider implants or go bigger. Considering you have 400+ your body type looks like they can handle more.

Everything that I have read says that the PS centers the implants behind the nipple. A wider implant might make them closer. Also, your results will depend on your before. In other words your augmented breasts will look like your natural breasts only larger.
I would mention it to your PS at your 3 month post op and see what they say.
If you are still unhappy with the results you could get a second opinion.

They do look pretty far apart, and I would definitely discuss it with your PS at your next appt. I don't know if there is anything he/she could do about it anyways, because like some others have said, a BA gives you size, but may not necessarily give you cleavage. Like Lovely said, you may have to look at a wider implant if that's an option.
If it's any consolation, I had a good 2 finger widths space between my breasts a few months ago, and now only have 1 finger width space.

I don't have any expertise to give, but encouragement... I think they look nice in the position they are at. They look like they sit in a very natural position.

Hey, can't view you pics because I'm at work, but keep in mind that the distance of your cleavage before implants will be the same after implants. If your pre-BA breasts were far apart, then your post-BA breasts will remain far apart. There is little a PS can do to ancor the boobs into the center of your chest, unless they go with a wider implant than your natural breast. You could always use a push-up bra to bring the girls closer together and create cleavage.

Thanks for all the answers...however everyone keeps saying that the implant should be centered behind the nipple...mine arent!! I looked in the mirror from a more side view, which you can't see in the photo. There is definitely more implant toward my armpit...in other words, they are not centered...definitely more towards my armpits. I would say if I centered them, they would both move about 3/4 inch towards the center.

So now I guess I have some grounds to argue with him...not only did he not help my wide spaced breasts, I think he accentuated the problem!!
I am just so bummed that I see all you guys with gorgeous cleavage and in a swimsuit (like a halter) I just look like I have an open gap in the chest area. Of course when I wear a push-up, they look much better, but no where near touching. I want that nice "butt" cleavage when I wear a push up bra!

Please...I need super honest opinions on the spacing...I know the implants themeselves look great, but were any of you like "wow" when you saw how far apart they were??
