The first plastic surgeon i went to during a consult had a woman in there. I think it was more uncomfortable cuz she was young and attractive and i wasn't even sure if she had any medical background. I didn't need anyone else looking at my deflated boobs especially since i wasn't sure if i was going with him which i didn't(not for that reason). The other plastic surgeon didn't have anyone in the room and i felt much better. I haven't had my surgery yet, but i think it not as big of a deal before surgery cuz you know you're boobs are getting fixed. The person watching is probably waching the surgery as well. After i would prefer just the plastic surgeon, but hopefully will be more comfortable with my body. So i guess if i chose no on all 3

1. During your consult, do you prefer to have a staff member present while the surgeon examines you? yes 2. What about pre-surgery when your surgeon is marking you and prepping you for surgery? yes 3. Do you prefer a staff member present at your Post Op appointments? yes And most of those reasons are because of my plastic surgeon personality. He is also very dry with is humor. Great guy, just hard to "Get" at first. So the assistance aways lightened the mood for me. |

I felt really comfortable with my plastic surgeon and he had an assistant with him in the room and I wasn't very comfortable with her being in there. So I would have preferred to not have anyone else in there during my consult. I'm nervous already, and to have someone looking at me whom I'm not comfortable with just makes it even more uncomfortable. Right before surgery, I would be ok with it. I'm about to get new ones anyway and once I'm under, I'm sure there will be a few people in the surgery while i'm laying there unconscious, so that wouldn't bother me. Post op, I would prefer to not have a staff member in there as well, again just cause I wasn't comfortable with his assistant and I was fine with the Doc. |

1. During your consult, do you prefer to have a staff member present while the surgeon examines you? Yes, they are suppose to have someone else present in the room no matter what type of doctor it is. 2. What about pre-surgery when your surgeon is marking you and prepping you for surgery? Yes, at least a family member or a member of the pre-op staff if they are available (mine....everyone was so busy hubby sat w/me while plastic surgeon did markings & so did hubby lol) 3. Do you prefer a staff member present at your Post Op appointments? yes Thanks ladies! Your participation is greatly appreciated![/QUOTE] |

My DH was with me for 1 and 2, just me and the plastic surgeon for 3. I liked it that way although honestly I was surprised he didn't have staff in the room when I was alone just because these days seems like all physicians would. My DH is a physician and no way would he put himself in that situation, but then again maybe DH being a physician, my plastic surgeon felt comfortable doing it the way he did. Not sure his usual policy though.

1. During your consult, do you prefer to have a staff member present while the surgeon examines you? For the initial one, I would say yes, I would definitely prefer another staff member. Once I got to know my plastic surgeon tho, it did not matter either way! 2. What about pre-surgery when your surgeon is marking you and prepping you for surgery? Oh no, definitely does not matter at all...I had spent so much time talking to my plastic surgeon by this point, I almost felt like we were old friends! 3. Do you prefer a staff member present at your Post Op appointments? Again, totally doesn't matter. Also-at my first post-op, my plastic surgeon had two plastic surgeon-trainees sit in and it didn't bother me either. Thanks ladies! Your participation is greatly appreciated! your welcome! |

I would say no to all 3. During my consultation, my plastic surgeon really took his time to talk with me and made me feel extremely comfortable. Being able to chat with him one on one was just excellent. When the assistant came in later, it felt a bit awkward and I wasn't able to express myself much. And the fact that she was so young, I just would rather there was one less person looking at my ugly deflated boobs. And oh, my plastic surgeon is so hot; also has a great bedside manner, great sense of humor. Just him all the time will be FINE by me, haha.

![]() | 1. During your consult, do you prefer to have a staff member present while the surgeon examines you? Yes, I liked that he, along with his nurse was in the room. She had a lap top and was continously taking notes the entire tme. 2. What about pre-surgery when your surgeon is marking you and prepping you for surgery? By this time I felt like my plastic surgeon was a "friend" and I think my husband did too. So it didnt really matter at this point. I was pretty dang comfortable with just letting the girls out! 3. Do you prefer a staff member present at your Post Op appointments? Well I dont think it would matter either way, as I trust my plastic surgeon 100%, however due to the fact that i have had complications, I think it is better to have the nurse in the room taking as many notes as possible! |

I didn't have a staff member present for any of the 3 and I'm OK with that. In fact, I think I'd prefer just me and the doctor. I'm shy and my unaugmented breasts were so horribly ugly and embarrassing. Having just the doc in the room was more than enough!

i prefer to only have actual qualifyed plastic surgeon's at all times not just receptionists or anything like that. nurses are ok but not none medically quallifyed personal.and im the same with my gp i wouldnt get my top off in a typeing pool so why should i be ok with them coming into my private medical consult. however i do understand that its a necessity due to alligations of impropper conduct ect but i dont have to like it or feel comfortable with it. if i go for a breast exam with my gp he calls the receptionist in to make sure i cant accuse him of impropper conduct ( its policy with all female patients) i hate the fact that a non medical person has seen my breasts with out my express concent.but i accept it because my gp is a nhs one as such free (apart from taxes ect) but my plastic surgeon was good enough to make sure the female staff member present was a actual real nurse i knew her name befor the appointment ect but then again i paid a lot of money for the appointment |

Pre-surgery I was given Ambien so I was out of it when I was being marked so I didn't really care. She was my nurse anyway. Post-op: No.

2) Prepping for surgery, I had the assistant give me my gown and brought me to the OR. I never saw my plastic surgeon during prepping. I didn't even see him after. 3) I feel more comfortable with her there Post op appointments. It's easier to talk to a female about concerns and advice then tell my male plastic surgeon.
