Hi again ladies, I forgot to ask my dr's office today at my pre-op appt and thought maybe you could help me. It seems like a stupid question, but what size sports bra do you buy to wear after surgery? It seems that sometimes you never know what size you may end up for sure and you want it to be tight I am sure. I recently bought one a size bigger than what I am now to do the rice test with, but it seemed to fit more loose than it should for a sports bra, even with D size rice sizers!!! So, do I buy a 36D if that's what I want to be after surgery or a use the one I have now that is a 36C? Suggestions/Advice????? Thanks! |

I ended up getting the Champion zip front bras at Target. My ps recommended getting different sizes and returning the ones I didn't need. I actually got two mediums and two larges and ended up keeping both sizes. Started in the medium, went to large when boobs were swollen PMS. Now depending on what I need support or breathing room - I change.

Does your ps want you in a sports bra after surgery? If so, I would buy a few different sizes. Keep the receipt and leave the tags on all of the bras. After surgery, try on the bras and keep the bra that fits best. Take the rest back to the store and get a refund. |

I was hoping for a D, so bought a 32D, 32DD, 34D and 34DD... I never wore the 32D!!! I took them back and changed them for the right sizes afterwards...

You are about my stats. I bought zip front ones at sears. Got a large. They are loose around the bottom. They were comfy at 1st I bought a 36d one at Walmart that looks almost like a bra and it fit perfectally in the cups. I wear my stretchy ones to bed though. Once you are able to put them over your head. Good luck..

Nikki - yes, they ask me to wear one following surgery for the first month, 24 hours a day. I read this in paperwork they gave me to take home for "after your procedure". It just didn't tell me how to shop for sizes. I will do as you all suggest and buy a variety of sizes, keep the tags on them, and only wear the ones that fit and return the others. Good ideas and advice ladies! Thanks again! |

![]() | Hydrosense Bra
Hi! I just came online to ask the same question and here yours is! I read in the Photo Gallery section that the Hydrosense Bra by Champion is the best. Where do you find it? Thanks! Aileen Consult date: 2/12/2007 Surgery date: 3/6/2007 |

I second the motion of getting two different sizes. And if you can't find a zip-front one (I havne't been able to.) try slipping it on from bottom to top. Its easier than it sounds. That way you don't have to raise your arms over your head. Annie |

Hi Slinky, they definitely want me to get one that has front closure, I guess zip or fastener doesn't matter. Aileen, I just saw somewhere on the forum someone put a sight up to buy sports bras and after surgery bandages, etc.....maybe there???? I don't know, haven't heard of it before!

Target carries the Champion line. I just bought a sports bra from them, I am not sure if it is the style you referred to, but holy cow, this thing is SO comfy. It was about $20, comes in a bunch of great colors and runs S,M,L. It's very soft, has no tags and no seems. The elastic around the bottom is very comfortable too. You may want to try there. I also bought a $5 sportsbra from Walmart. It has hook & eyelet things in the front (not a zipper). I haven't put it on yet, but I'm sure it will come in handy post breast augmentation when I can't lift my arms. They also have real cheap camisoles w/shelf bras that are comfy too. Good Luck!! | |

I went to walmart and bought the ones that have a zipper on the front and with my band size actually one size of band bigger than the one I use and it's perfect.I can sleep with it and use it all day it's very comfortable and the best part it was like $6. Very comfortable sports bra. I'm very happy I bought that kind because I have to use it day and night for 2 wks.

Did they tell you ladies to get your own sports bra? My doctors have always fitted me in a sports bra, I'm going to ask him for a 2nd one at my next appointment. Maybe you can ask them if they have the bras there.

My PS actually suggested the sports bra i should get from a particular store that he sends all his clients to. So i went there and they measured me up etc...and i just told them how many cc's i was getting and they sorted out which size i should get. Rachael |

Thanks for all the info ladies! This has been helpful. Judging by the last few comments, I am thinking I should call them. They did tell me I would need to buy it myself, however, maybe they have a preferred store or brand they can recommend. I do have lots of ideas though on what I can do, thanks to you all! |

My PS told me to get one that fits the size I am now. I found one at JC Penney with a zip front.

My PS said that with the ccs he was putting in me i should go up about 2 cup sizes so i bought 34C sports bras. A week post op when i had to start wearing them i ended up exchanging them for 36Bs due to the swelling under my arms. So it may be a good idea to allow room for that |
