Hi there, I'm new to the board and have four children, 5, 3 and 7 month old twins My breast augmentation date is scheduled for the end of June. I'm currently a 34AAA (all the nursing and pumping has left me completely flat) and have finally gotten the courage to have a breast augmentation. My PS has recommended that I have partial co gels, 371 to look like 339, hopefully a full B to C. I've been told I shouldn't really lift anything heavy for about 2 weeks to 4 weeks and this will be really difficult with my twins. My husband will be with me for 1 week after surgery and then he has to go back to work. Unfortunately my family has been called away to help my grandmother who is really sick, otherwise my mom would have been here to help me for a couple of weeks. My question is has anyone else had breast augmentation with small children and how did you find it with the recovery? Did you have to lift your little ones, if so did it hurt, or slow down your healing? Any advice or comments would be so welcome. I'm so nervous that I'll slow down my healing or cause any bleeding etc. if I have to pick them up to early. Not sure if I should postpone my surgery until my kids or bigger . . . my husband has said if I do this he knows I don't have it later because we'll be so busy with the kids and sports etc. ![]() Thanks so much everyone!! |

Everyone is different, and every PS is different - however, I was told not to lift anything over 5lbs for 2 weeks, and even if I wasn't told that, I still phsyically wouldn't have been able to do it. I was amazed at how much muscle strength I lost with my unders. At week one, I went to finally get dressed up to go out for the first time, and my boyfriend had to help me pull up my jeans. You may be ok after one week on your own, but expect not to be. You don't want to do things before your body is ready to do them or else it will hinder your healing time. Is there a friend who you can have sort of "on call" if need be?? Or a neighbor? |

i have a kid that is 9mnt so with you having 3 you will probably heal faster then most i did then what my twin did because she hasnt had any kids so her chest didnt have enough tissue like we do from havin kids my ps said dont lift more then 15lbs the first week but the first 3-5 days dont lift anything over 5 now i had mine a week ago and now i can lift up to 25lbs but not for a long time so if you need to put them in the tub or get them in and out of the car or put them in the crib things like that he told me are fine and he knows i have her so he knows i need to take care of her and i can not not lift her but only up to 25lbs for the first 3 weeks. but thats just what my ps told me

I have 2 boys not as young as yours but young...they r 7 & 3. & I had a lot of help for 1 week which I totally needed. After 2 weeks it was much better not fully recovered yet but better! I could atleast dress myself better & fix my hair. It really wasn't as bad as what I thought it would have been but just have someone hand the babies to u to sit on your lap & hold them. U can do this u r Mommy of 4....u sound like a pretty strong lady to me !!!!!!!! Good Luck....u will do great!!!!!!

Thanks everyone, really appreciate the comments!! I think we've worked something out and have been lucky to get the last spot my PS had in July. My new date is July 8 and my mom will be back to help - yippee!! I was starting to think this "wasn't meant to be" ![]() The twins are 15.5lbs and 14.5lbs, which is good they are light. Good to know maasi that you've recently had your breast augmentation and you can manage to put your wee one in the tub etc., gives me hope. It will be really odd not to be able to just pick them up for a cuddle and a squeeze for a while though. Thanks again ladies and I still can't believe I'm finally going to have some , I really missed them when I was done nursing!Have a great weekend everyone! |
