![]() | Areola reduction? I'm so sorry if this in the wrong place. (I considered posting on the "other plastic surgery procedures" but reconsidered since it is boob related) Anyway, I'm having a reduction in the size of my right areola at the same time I get my implants. Can anyone that has had this done shed some light on what to expect, and/or how much worse it might make the recovery process? For some reason I am not anticipating it will add too much discomfort to the recovery, however, I'm slightly apprehensive about it. I wonder about the scar (I'll ask about that at pre-op) the sensation, really just anything that can help me to kind of know what to expect. (I always like to know what to expect, to some degree) Many thanks in advance, gals...much appreciation!! |

Hi there, I am actually having it done to both at the time of my breast augmentation. I put a post under the "Breast Lift" section & got some good responses. Ive done quite a bit of research on it because I am a little freaked out. The first thing is it depends on how much they are removing around the areola. The larger the diameter, the more "puckering" your going to see. My PS said that he would almost guarantee that all of the puckering will go away. He is taking about 1 1/2 centimeters from the edge of my areola, but then putting in 400cc silicone mod-plus implants. I have seen some HORRIBLE pics of a Benelli lift, which entails cutting the areola, but I have also seen some pretty good ones. The bad ones my PS said were so bad because the womens breasts were SO saggy, she should have done a full anchor lift. Since you aren't getting a lift, and it's just to match the other, your PS will most likely be taking off just a little. As far as pain goes, I've heard that there is no additional from what you'll be feeling from the breast augmentation. My PS is going to use disolvable stitches everywhere, and he is really confident I am going to have little scaring. The other issue is that my areola is much darker than my skin. I think this will help make the scar much less noticeable since there is already a big contrast. Anyway, now that I've rambled on & on, I hope this helps, and you may want to check out my thread from last week. Good Luck! |
