Question regarding Cohesive Gel Implants
Hello there,
I know the FDA approved the use of silicone (cohesive gel) implants in the US. I am confused about whether or not they approved the higher generation implant referred to as the "gummy bear" implant? Are these implants any safer then the lower generation implants? I have read that those of you with the "gummies" love them and I am just looking for somebody to explain the major difference/advantage to me. Thanks! |

Cohesive (as my PS explained it) is more the consistency of JELL-O. Whereas the older ones were more liquid. He said if you "cut" an implant in half the cohesive would not ooze out, but just sit there. As with the gummies they're more of a solid nature. Thinking of the gummy candies, but not so dense. I have "felt" a set of gummies, one of a long time ago member's boobs and they have IMO more upper pole fullness. I have cohesive moderate profile and very pleased with them. HTH.

What Ewalina said is right on target.
Cohesive gel's were approved last November, but Gummies are not FDA approved just yet. The only way you can get gummies is if you find a surgeon who is part of their 10 year study. |

Hi, I'm having Mentor Gel Silicone implants next month. I went to a senimar held by Kaiser, which was really useful. They show you how the gel stays in place even when the implant is cut open, it kind of reminded me of a clear - 'chicken filet' if you know what I mean ! I am more than happy to go with these as even though they have only just been approved over here they have been using them in Europe for a long time.
Apparently my PS says that they feel more natural ? Hey bonus, I just want big boobies !

Thanks Gals-FYI
FYI, I saw a Dr. here in Italy (who also works in England). He told me that the silicone gel implants utilized today could last a life time! He has done thousands of implant surgeries. --I know you still need to have them checked, but I was excited to here that. Thanks to you all! This is a fantastic site.
