My ps had me stop taking ibuprofen and salicylate (aspirin)-containing medications two weeks prior to surgery b/c they thin the blood. It is important to not even take one pill of these. If you have pain you can take Tylenol. I also had eat foods which contain salicylates in moderation only. You can find a list of medications and foods to avoid here: http://www.justbreastimplants.com/surgery/meds.htm. I also had to stop drinking alcohol 10 days prior to surgery. If you're a smoker you should stop smoking at this time or at least cut way back but I don't smoke so this wasn't an issue for me. Also, no dental work or dental cleanings a week prior to surgery. I stayed well hydrated (tried to get in my 64 oz. of water every day). I also started using a really good shea butter cream on my breasts twice a day 2 weeks prior to surgery to moisturize the skin, prepare it for stretching, and help prevent stretch marks. Cocoa butter or bio oil work well also. After surgery I think I was supposed to stay away from ibuprofen and aspirin for another week and not drink alcohol until I was off my pain meds. I also tried to stay hydrated during this time as well (staying hydrated is always good for you). I tried to stay away from high-sodium foods to help with the swelling. I also didn't take tub baths for 3 weeks after surgery immersing your incisions under water before they are completely closed can increase the risk of infection. That's all I can think of for right now! |

No problem! Also check this out: http://www.justbreastimplants.com/surgery/tipsheet.htm. It has a lot of helpful tips for before and after surgery. It has everything that my ps told me on it plus more. I used it to make my shopping list for last-minute items before my breast augmentation.
