Breast Augmentation Before or After having kids?

Is there a major difference in how the body reacts to having a breast aug before or after kids? Has anyone experienced having children after breast aug? Is the skin able to stretch that much more after a breast aug? Did anyone have a major problem with stretch marks after breast aug and children? Thank you!

I got my implants about 6 years before kids. They were very full and high before, and most people speculated that they were fake (they were 270cc). I gained about 40 pounds with my first child and nursed for about three months. During that time I had a deflation and got them redone (to 250). I wanted them more natural, and I got it.

The next child I only gained 25 pounds and nursed for 4 months. In the next few years I gained and lost about 35 pounds. So overtime my breasts definitely got stretched out (but not saggy...mostly just softer).

I am pretty tiny (26" ribcage, 14 bwd). I had consults with 6 surgeons, and none of them showed any hesitation when I said I wanted 600-800 ccs with my redo. I am sure that part of the reason is that my skin will easily accomodate the bigger size now.

I had stretch marks after kids, but not the breast augmentation. They completely disappeared.

Pregnancy can take a toll on implants. So if you're thinking of getting pregnant in the next 1-2 years, I'd recommend waiting. Otherwise, go for it now, they are WAY too much fun to put off. AND...you might have babies sooner once you have them, as I'm sure your hubby will be all over you!

I know a couple people who have done them before kids and they say they look more natural after. It really depends on the person. I haven't had kids and just had them done. I don't plan to for another 6-7 years, but I do know that one day they will have to be done regardless. Implants are not lifetime devices.

I am 33 and do not have any children. I want to have children desperately but am still waiting for Mr. Right for Me. I wanted implants so badly for so many years that I did not want to wait until I had children. My PS told me that if I gain no more than 25 pounds during pregnancy then my breasts will be fine. I am guessing because of my genetics - I started out with very small breasts and I gain the majority of my weight in my hips and ass. I gained over 50 pounds these past 3 years from quitting smoking so I can only imagine how much I would gain from being pregnant!

1hipchick, thnx for the post! I'll be getting my boobs at the end of the week and one concern was what pregnancy would do to my breasts! But like you said, I don't see it in the near future, just the future! And why put of something so fun and sexy, i'm also going with a smaller implant. Anyways! I waited. I now have 2 boys, and I married a man with 2 boys. 4 BOYS!!! UGH! WE'RE DONE!!! But, my breasts didn't change during pregnancy or breast feeding so I think I could have gotten them before kids and had no problems. I know some people that went from an A to a D from babies though, and they DEF wouldn't have liked their results if they had breast augmentation before kids. They would have had to get a lift or bigger implants to fill the loose skin.

The best thing to do is talk to your female blood relatives, and see how much their breasts changed during pregnancy and breastfeeding. That will give you a better (not perfect, but better) idea of what you can expect. HTH!

I went from a A to a big C small D when I was pregnant. I have extra skin now from my boobs stretching out so much then going back down to A's. If i had implants before I would need a lift!!! My friend had 300cc saline under implants for about 3 years before she got pregnant again, she already had three kids but her boobs look nothing like they did a year before she got pregnant, she didn't breastfeed either!! She needs a lift BAD!!!
