BA in two days any advice or words of incouragement?

I have my breast augmentation in two days. I have had it booked for so long that I can't believe it is here. I have been so excited but these past few days I have been nervous. I have never had surgery so I don't know what to expect. Do you have any advice for me or tips for pre/post op? I know all the basics, but if there is anything you think I should know that would help that would be great! Thank to all you girls for all the advice and support throughout my research process. I love this site!!

I had my breast augmentation yesterday, and I from a pain scale from 0-10 I am at a 1... maybe. I was thinking that I would be in a LOT more pain.

I think the IV was more painful than my recovery so far. My advise is to make sure that you stay up on your pain meds. Make sure you don't wait until you are in pain. Take them as prescribed.

Other than that, just make sure you have plenty of yummy food, a person to take good care of you for a couple days and a comfy place to stay. I am a side and back sleeper and have found that sleeping on my back is most comfortable with two pillows under my neck, one under my knees, and one under each arm. I had absolutely no problem sleeping last night

Overall, for me it has been a lot easier than I expected. Just enjoy relaxing during your recovery and take things slowly! And finally, just enjoy your new big boobies!!! It's totally worth it

Hope this helps.....

Hi, I hope it goes well for you! This may be overly simplistic, but these things helped me so I will throw them out there!

- The pillows are a definite.....have your bed ready to with pillows to prop you up, put under your knees, under your neck, on your sides, etc.
- Have pain meds filled and handy and keep up on them.
- Have some water and crackers or something right by your bed so that when you have to take meds, you don't have to go far. (most of the meds will make you sick if you don't take them with food)
- Remind yourself the breast's will change a lot over the coming weeks so reserve judgement.....they will be tight and the swelling will increase in the first 48 hrs, they will be probably be high, etc. I think its helpful to be mentally prepared that they are not going to be the pretty breasts you are envisioning right off the bat, it takes a little time!
- Have a TV positioned right and some movies on hand, you will probably be drowsy but when you are awake you may not want to do too much.....if you start a movie you will probably fall alseep at some point but its nice to have a little preoccupation.
- Its nice to have someone to help you get up and stuff the first few days, the muscles can be very sore and moving the arms and all is sore at first. My hubby even helped me shower the next day!

Hope any of that helps!

I am had mine 2 weeks ago tomorrow and I am surprised at how great I am doing!

1 more thing

A button up shirt to the surgery center is a good idea, just in case they did not tell you to wear that!

Hope all goes well for you.

as for goin in to surgery just totally RELAX! i know hard to say, but RELAX, even fake relax if possible. the surgery part - usually is the easiest! (of course cos we're knocked out! hehe)

next thing you know you'll be awake with a nice new set of boobies!

drink plenty of fluids and be on top of your medications
batteries for your remote control
lots of button up shirts or even light robes

hmm thats all i remember,
best wishes
