Venting! Why do people act like this?

Hi ladies,
I recently had my breast augmentation with a little bit of lipo (for my trouble spots). I only told my family, 1 close friend and my bf (since the breast augmentation was more obvious I felt comfortable telling them that, I kinda kept the lipo private -only my sis and bf knew about the lipo). Anyhow, I had my bf promise he would NOT tell his best friend & gf anything. I am good friends with them but I did not feel comfortable telling them the news, unless I saw them in person and they asked me about it. I figure it's not their business, it's my body. Plus his friend's gf is well-endowed in the boobie area, yet she has about 20 excess lbs to lose, so I was positive she'd be against surgery. Well we were all supposed to meet last week and go to the movies together, but something came up. Anyhow, according to my bf, my bf figured they'd noticed anyway when we were supposed to meet up at the movies and hinted to his best friend that I looked a little different in a drastic/good way and that he'd see when he sees me. His friend jokingly asked if I got a boob job and he answered yes. Well his friend's gf called me up yesterday and asked me how things were going. I told her I was going to see the doctor this week and she asked me what for, so I replied that I would tell her in person. Then she said that she kinda heard something and probably knew what it was. So I asked her to enlighten me and she told me she heard I was getting a breast augmentation and lipo. This pissed me off tremendously

!! I had a talk with my bf about this yesterday. My bf CLAIMS his friend guessed the breast augmentation, and did not know about the lipo. Anyhow, this girl didn't know I already got the procedure done and was lecturing me thinking I was doing it for my bf... which is NOT TRUE!! I did it for me. I even told her I already had it done. Then she went on and on about how my boobs would look fake, no matter which PS I chose or even if I chose a modest size (she claimed she can always tell who has a boob job). Then she called me a hypocrite for getting lipo. I eat well for the most part and love to exercise (always considered myself athletic, but have few trouble spots that don't ever go away - it's just the way I was built). Anyhow, she asked me why I was still going to the gym if I got lipo. She heard I cancelled my gym membership (which is true), but that's b/c I want a fresh start and am sick of my old gym (too crowded). I'm going to start looking for a new gym soon, but there's so many to choose from, it's not an easy task. Plus I didn't want people commenting about my breast augmentation, so I figured I'd join another gym where no one saw me pre-breast augmentation. (I tend to wear cute/tight little tank tops at the gym so my breast augmentation would definitely be somewhat obvious... I didn't go large, but I was small to begin with). Ah, and you want to know the kicker??

... she told me my lipo would not be permanent & that I'd gain all that weight back. First of all, if I continue to eat sensibly & exercise (instead of eating like a pig & being a couch potato) then I should be able to maintain my weight & new shape.

Anyhow, I'm just venting... FYI, there's a good reason I didn't tell this girl, but I had no idea she'd blow up in my face like this. I'm still pissed off at my bf and he knows it. Honestly, what do you ladies think?

Ok so here's my opinion... I'll bet your bf is just excited and proud to have a hot little gf and made a slip when he told. And your bfs friend's gf... it sounds like she is jealous to me. She has her opinions and wants them to be known... Everyone will be over it very quickly. Just move on and enjoy your new body!
I am having breast augmentation and lipo Aug 4 and am also not going to tell people about the lipo. For some strange reason, BAs seem to be more acceptable! I also don't want to say anything about the lipo at work because 2 of the girls I work with are overweight and I am not... just some trouble spots... and they would think it is crazy! Luckily, they are supportive of the breast augmentation. I am nervous about going back to work because of people's reactions but after a couple of weeks, people will be over it and forget all about it.

sounds like somebody is super jealous. haha brush it off bc i'm sure deep down if she had them means or the balls, she would do it too!!!

Thanks you're right... My bf was in love with me and how I looked before surgery. He let me know that it was MY decision and that he'd support no matter what, and that he'd love me either way. After I had surgery, he has not been able to get over how good I look. He thought I looked good before, and now he says I'm like an upgraded version of myself, haha. Well, if it slipped I don't mind so much. I mind more so if it was told on purpose, since I'm kind of a private person and wanted to keep it that way.

BTW, I'm just like you.. I'm not overweight by any means, just had some small stubborn fat areas (bothered me since I was a teenager). If anything, maybe they took out like .5 lb of fat (that's my guess). I really didn't have anything extensive done in that regard. Anyhow, I figured I'd be saving more money this way by having both surgeries together and I'd also be only going through 1 recovery period. So that's why I did it.

I agree that your BF shouldn't have told his friend, but you know how men are! I don't think you owe anyone an explanation, you know your reasons for wanting the lipo/breast augmentation & that's your business. It's also your business if you want to join a new gym for a fresh start, I don't blame you one bit. I'd do the same thing because I know I'd want to go there to get my workout done & not have to spend my time answering questions from a dozen people. In my experience, there are just some women who are unhappy with themselves and hate, hate, hate to see other women work hard to look/feel better. I think it's also common for people to think of plastic surgery as the "easy way." Many don't realize that even with lipo, you still have to maintain a healthy lifestyle and workout.

As tough as it is, if this girl is the GF of one of his friend's, then you're probably stuck with her lol. I'd let the comments go in one ear & out the other at this point. Good luck with the situation & your new look!

Maybe she is jealous, not sure... Regardless, I'm hoping this all blows over soon. At least my best friend has been supportive. She was so excited to see me the other day. Haha, she wanted to see my new boobies, but right now it's hard to tell that I've even had surgery. As per my PS, I can't wear a bra until I get his approval (they need to drop down a bit more first). At first I thought I'd be really uncomfortable with this, but I've just been laying my clothes whenever I go out.

Jealousy, definitely! I've had lipo done twice, but none of my friends know about it. My mom knows only about the first time

My mom knows only about the first time __________________ 5'5, 135 lbs (working on losing the flab) 34/36DD FIRST breast augmentation, 2005: 350cc saline, Mentor, smooth, round, moderate, periareolar incision. REDO, JULY 2009: 450cc filled to 540 saline, Mentor, smooth, round, moderate plus. Crescent lift. Redo also involved capsulectomy of Grade IV CC. Thinking about getting a benelli lift and switching to silicone. *I ONLY accept friend requests from Elite members. Nothing personal; I'm just concerned about my privacy. *
