This is kinda far off but thought I would ask

I wont be able to get into surgery to have my breast augmentation until late November.

(I needed a mammogram first and I cant get in until mid october..)

Anywho...

Because late November is so close to Thanksgiving and Christmas, I was thinking of pushing it off til January after the holidays.

Do you gals think that is a wise desicion? I just wasnt sure how much pain I will be in, etc. and i figure trying to cook, bake, Christmas shop, etc.. it would be better to wait.

Do you guys think that is a good idea?

Stick with your original date. You should be fine 5 days post op. My surgeon's office scheduled my mammogram.

I agree. Stick to your first date. It took me a week before I really felt ready to run around. And the second week, I just got tried easily. After that, I was feeling back to normal.

I think its kinda up to you on how busy you are in the holiday season. I do think it would slow you down a wee bit but not a lot. I know if I had mine lets say xmas time then it would have made a diff with deocorating I would not have felt like going all out like I do.
So I would sit back and take a long look at the holidays. I had to wait a long time from consult 3-17 to my surgery 6-29. As long as you would be comfortable putting it off my advice would be to wait until after the holidays but thats just me. I am a big holiday girl and would not want any set backs and it does hold you back a bit while you are in recovery.

If the original date is more than a week from Thanksgiving then keep it. If not, try to get a date after thanksgiving and that'll be plenty of time before x-mas.

Only you know what your normal tasks are, especially during the holiday season, but I agree with VisionQuest. I am 4 weeks post op and can do some of my normal household stuff, but am not up to doing alot of what I normally do.
If you have alot of help from hubby and kids then maybe do it before the holidays, otherwise I would wait.

these ladies are all right on with the dates on how soon you will be back up and feeling better! But for me personally, knowing what i do now about how long it can take to drop depending on if ur getting overs or unders and the whole not being able to wear a bra for so long, and they might take on a less than flattering shape before dropping and fluffing and i would not want tons of holidays pics to capture that!! thats just me though...good luck!

Wink

I do agree that it depends on how BIG your Holiday season is. I am big on the Holidays, lots of festive social-company parties, ices skating, and decorating. Especially if u have kids, I would wait til after the Holidays. I am almost 4 weeks and I am still sore and tire easily, really all I wanna do is relax in bed. All of my friends keep calling me to go jet sking, and to Lake house parties, and I' ve been brooding stuck inside. I kinda wish I waited 'til after the summer-lol. Recovery is a long process. You will have soreness and morning boob, weekly changes, plus the the "boobi blues". With all that going on it might put on damper on you and your family's "Holidays".

If your breast augmentation is overs, then you shouldn't have any problem....but if they are unders, if it was me I probably would wait till after the holidays but everyone is different.

honestly, i went shopping the day after my surgery and drove 5 days after. There is no pain, only discomfort (at least it was that way for me)

I agree too. My PS is conservative but I was only allowed to lift the weight of a water bottle my 1st week, 5lbs my 2nd week, and am moving to 10 lbs my 3rd week. I've had to get help cleaning the house and going grocery shopping. If you are going to spend all the money you don't want to push yourself and do something that could cause a complication. And you will worry after it is done that you have caused a complication. Plus, you get very emotional after surgery and cry over stupid things. My guy calls it "boobie emotion". Its a big deal changing your body.

I'm surprised it is taking so long for you to get in for a mammogram. I got in within a day.
