Port Removed today under local

Hey girls,
So today was the day. For those of you who are not familiar with me, I had my breast augmentation in March, went with Adjustable breast implants. I had my expansion 2wks ago and had the port removed today under local.WOW!!! What an experience, I get there and they put me back in the room, the nurse props me up on the bed operating table whatever its called, so anyway. I asked the nurse about the scar that falls lower under by breast and she says she is going to ask the ps. SO he comes in and says I can fix it today, so I say yes go ahead...UNDER LOCAL!!!It was the weirdest experience. He rubbed alcohol and I should have known what was coming he starts to inject the lidocain and after I am already in shock and trying to stay put because I had to pee..he says your going to feel a pinch. Yeah...I had figured that one out on my own. Anyway, they left me in the room for about 15 min while it kicked in, and when he came back, the nurse was with him he prepped me and away he went. He started on the right one the one he was going to move the scar up on, that was weird!!! So we start talking about this site, I am mentally telling myself...YOU dont need to pee, stay put your a big girl..OH MY GOD WHAT IS HE DOING TO ME..stay CALM. SO I can feel when he cuts me but it doesnt hurt through this whole time I feel tugging, my skin stretching, it starts to hurt but not enough to where I scream just enough to make my eyes twitch and try to make myself forget about where I am..Anyway about 10mins after or so it was to me, he says your going to feel a tug...and BOY did I feel it!!! After that he started with the stitches...and then I felt a burning sensation for a little bit and it was over for that side.the other side was a lot faster, a little bit of pain the pulling of the port and the stitches ALL in all , It was weird....I was so paranoid through out the whole procedure, trying not to shake from the fact that I drank a whole cup of soda and then some before the procedure, trying to pretend like I was somewhere else so I would block out the weird feelings, the burning sensation..OH GOD...thank GOD I am almost done with this whole thing...My next visit is next week just to remove the stitches, my complimentary facial and skin analysis.

Sorry if I bored some of you, but for the others who share my experience with adjustables hope this helps.

Now I just have to take care of my right incision and the left should heal faster since it was done over the same old incision...

OH my.... OUCH. I dont think I could've done the adjustables.

You are right on the ouch part...I think I would have been even more disappointed had I just went with the original 350cc's I started with, I was able to go up to 490 and it made a difference not much but some. I talked to ps today, he said if I lose some weight you will see how big they really are...We will see...if not I am going for a re-do later!!! Decisions...decisions

You got me sooo nervous now! I might have to take some medication before hand bc I am a wimp when it comes to pain. I sent a message so you can disregard that since I have seen how it went. I hope recovery is fast and painless from here out.

You are very welcome I was hoping you saw it, Its not that bad, but I would take some medication before....The reason why it was like that for me was because he moved the incision up closer to the breast. The port removal on the other one wasnt too bad. I did feel the tugging but it wasn't as bad, and it didnt help that I needed to go pee really bad so I couldnt find a happy place! He was talking the whole time, the nurse was in there and time went back pretty quick. I go back in a week for the stitches to be removed. The only thing I hated is that now I start all over from the right incision got to be careful with it, the left which only had the port removed feels fine tonight...

Keep me posted on your progress too...!!!

I guess you're glad to have that over with!! Hope things continue to go well, the fact your bladder was about to burst may have helped (something to distract you a bit!) Yes, the things we do for boobies....

You are very welcome....If I ever go in for a re-do I am going to make sure that I know the exact size I want!! Adjustables were good for me this time around because I wasnt sure what I wanted but now after being on this website, I am WAYYYY more prepared!!

Omg girl you've got me worried sick!!! I was already nervous about the whole port removal thing and now hearing about your experience does not help at all!! I'm sorry that you had some discomfort. I don't know what I'm going to do...don't even know if I'll be able to handle local now because I can't handle pain AT ALL. I told my PS that I would have just been happy if I didn't have adjustables, he was glad to hear that. But it is nice to have the option to go bigger if wanted. It just sucks that we have to start over now. How much did he cut of the already made incision?? I'm nervous about the incistions being more prominent now that part of them would be cut open again. Did your PS mention anything about that to you? Just curious if that will happen. Oh and how long did the process take, not counting the new incision he made for you? Just trying to get a general idea of the length of the process because I didn't ask questions about it yet to my PS! My PS did tell me that after the removal, to give it a week before I can do all the normal things that I've been doing. Ahhhhhhhhhh I'm so nervous now!! I go to see him in another 2 weeks to discuss if I'm gonna have any more adjusting -don't know if I will or not. I bet you're SO happy you got this over with!!!
